About two weeks ago I was hanging out at a friend's place drinking wine with her and I decided that I wanted to have one of my nipples pierced. I'd never really wanted them before, but since then I had the idea stuck in my head and just couldn't stop thinking about it. Originally I only wanted one nipple pierced but then I decided that I couldn't decide between them so I had both done. Also I like to be symmetrical.

The staff were great, very friendly and the store smelt clinical but nice. It was $110 for a double nipple piercing plus the cost of jewellery. Luckily for me I had a card from Cat which gave me half price on the piercing price. So we made an appointment for 4.30 the same afternoon.
This gave me 2 hours to think. We went to a pharmacy and bought some numbing cream which the piercer had suggested. It was $20 and I used the entire tube. This part was pretty funny because it's white cream and you have to put it all around your nipples and then you put these clear little sticker things over that to hold it on and they looked kind of like little cream buns. Cat found this hilarious. Before that I was mostly worried about having to take my top off in front of a stranger but they trial run with cat when we put the cream on assured me that I wasn't going to have an issue.
Finally we went back for my appointment. I still wasn't nervous. Which was strange because when I'd had my conch pierced 6 months before I had completely freaked out. We went into the room and I put on a paper apron sort of thing and got on what looked like a dentistry chair. They were extremely thorough and clean in their procedures. They show you the sterilized equipment first. At this stage I still wasn't nervous. I decided not to look so I just looked at the ceiling. I could hardly feel at all what was going on and before I knew it one of my nipples was already pierced. It did hurt, but hardly at all. What hurt the most was the jewellery insertion. The first one hardly hurt but for some reason the second nipples hurt more. I looked down at them straight away and I loved them instantly. All of the staff were absolutely fantastic. They were so friendly and all had a lot of advice to offer. They also all told me that I should wear a bra and that it was now even more important to wear one, despite what people had been telling me. I don't find wearing my bra uncomfortable either, It provides extra protection from any bumps that happen.
I was told how to take care of them and given lavender wash for them because I'm allergic to the tea tree one. I was told not to let anyone touch them for awhile. But the next night I stupidly let the guy I'm seeing play with them. Which felt amazing but the next day they really hurt. But other than that they are going great. I've been keeping up on cleaning them and they look and feel amazing. One of the hardest things for me is not being able to sleep on my tummy. I've always slept on my tummy and now all of a sudden I have to train myself to sleep on my back. It was also really hard when Daniel slept over because the most comfortable thing is to lay on him and use him as my pillow but with my nipples I had to be really careful as that area tends to push against him. It's also hard to believe how often they get knocked during an average day. In the shower when you're washing your face and you hit them with your elbow or when walking around corners I tend to knock into walls sometimes.
I would encourage anyone to get their nipples pierced. It's very empowering and it seems to give me a lot more confidence. I have smallish boobs and I never really liked taking my top off before but already I'm so happy about whipping them out for Daniel. My boobs now look hot, they were before probably but they now seem so much more sexy. They look fantastic and I love them. Now the next issue will be when I go home for the holidays. My parents and I visit a lot of islands which will involve a lot of swimming in bikinis. I'm sure that will be interesting.
