Growing up, I never though I would be one to even consider getting my nipple pierced;however that all changed when I was about sixteen.

Since then I've flirted with the idea..never seriously actually thinking about it. I mean, sure I thought it would be cool, and the idea really did interest me, but needles are not my thing. A needle going through my precious nipple? I wasn't too keen on that idea either. I wasn't even old enough anyways.
It was an early summer morning when my friend Dez called. I had expressed my interest in getting my nipple(s) pierced before, but didn't think she would remember. She called to tell me she was getting both of hers done, and she wanted me to get mine done too. I told her I would go with her but 1: I wasn't old enough, 2: It would probably hurt like a mother and 3: I don't like needles. So I picked her up and went to this studio called "Supreme." We knocked on the door since it was locked and the guy inside fingered us. We took that as a bad sign and left. It really didn't look that sanitary anyways. I'm glad we had the good sense to get the hell out of there.
We eventually went to the local mall where theres a studio that does hair, nails, tanning, tattoos, piercings and eyelash extentions. I had gotten my tongue pierced there before, so i knew the piercer, and the studio well enough to know it was safe, and sterile. So we made Dez an appointment. Fifteen minutes later she was siting in the chair. She wanted both of hers done, and I watched very carefully. She didn't even flinch. Ten minutes later we were out. They looked SO good. This REALLY made me want to get it done. Of course I kept refusing, but Dez convinced me. So once again we go to make an appointment.
Fay-my piercer explains to me that since I was a year younger that your supposed to be for that certain piercing, we would have to dicuss my breast growth. After determining that I was pretty much completely developed, she agreed to pierce me. Now since one of my breasts is bigger than the other, I decided to get the smaller (the right one) pierced to sort of even it out.
By now I'm sitting in the chair pretty much freaking out. Fay's putting on her gloves, getting all her materials ready, and im told to take off my shirt and my bra. I thought it would be quite akward..but I was surprised at how professional she was and how easy it was to just whip off my shirt. The first thing she does is ask me to get up and stand with my back flat against the wall. This allows her to make mark on my nipples and to see how my breast falls normally. She said i made a good choice on getting my right one done. After the marking is done and i'm satisfied, she asks me to sit back down in the chair. She then gets the clamp and clamps it. A lot of people say this hurts, however I didn't think it did whatsoever. She told me to relax and to breathe, then she counted to three and on three she slid the needle in. I'm not going to lie, it hurt. It hurt A LOT. But for a very short time. Ten seconds and the initial pain was over. She grabbed the ring and applied K&Y to it and slid it in. I didn't even feel that part. She went over aftercare and cleaning procedures and told me that should come back in two weeks just to make sure its healing properly and then in a month after that for a final check up.
I cleaned it just like she said, went to all the check ups, but after 2 months i was still having discomfort and tenderness.
So I went in to get it checked, and it turns out that my bra puts too much pressure on it, and thats what was causing all the pain. At that point she suggested that i switch to a barbell. Of course, I listened and after that, I experienced no more discomfort.
Sometimes I like to put rings back in, but i still find that they cause me pain after leaving them in for more than a day. So then i just switch back, and it's no bid deal. Takes no time at all.
Other than that, I love my nipple piercing. It's a sexy and private piercing. People only know if you tell them. If you are contemplating it, i suggest you just giv'er. You won't regret. The ten seconds of pain is for sure worth it.
