For years I had always thought of nipple piercings as..."trashy". But like all piercings that I hate at first sight it grew on me and soon I came to the realization that I had to have my nipples pierced. The more I saw pictures of pierced nipples, the more beautiful they looked, and sexy too! So I researched on BME, read lots of expirences, googled the risks, and finally felt informed enough to get it done.

I go to two different piercers in town, so I chose the one closer to my house, Cory, and went set up an appointment. As luck would have it he was in a generous mood and quoted me $40 for both nipples. (Actually cory is perverted, but in a fun way, and I think he just wanted to make sure I would get it done so he could see my nipples:) So I made an appointment for a week later a friday, after I got off work.

Well friday comes around and I enlist my friend, megan, to come and offer me moral support. (As well as someones hand to squeeze). We go to the shop and get their 15 minutes early and are informed that cory had to run home and would be back shortly. So we sit and look through the tattoo books and talk. Half hour later there is still no cory. At this point I am starting to get a little miffed, after all its not like I was just a walk in, and I needed to get to my friends house to babysit. The shop phone rings and one of the tattoo guys answers it and I can tell that it is cory on the line. Basically there was some baby momma drama (something to do with a car that wouldn't stop running or something odd like that) and Pirate, the shop owner would have to do the piercing instead. This was fine with me, I don't really care for Pirate as a person in general, but he is the one who taught cory how to pierce so I figured it would be fine.

Pirate takes me back, cleans everything and sets up. Then its time. He has me lay back on the piercing bed and this is when I make megan hold my hand. He puts the clamps on, and thats when I freak out. I always freak out and it takes me several minutes to calm down. So I get calm and tell him to go ahead. He tells me to breath and then pushes the needle through...OH MY GOD! The Pain! Seriously, worst thing I have ever lived through. I shout some loud obsenities and almost wack pirate in the head. (my hand sorta flew up from shock). pirate moves to the other side, clamps me, and I throw a little fit. I keep making him back off, yelling that im not ready and he lied that it wouldn't hurt. (Don't ask me why but I feel better after I yell a bit. Though I realize that im a huge pain in the ass.)

Pirate just laughs and tells me that he is going to start tightening the clamps every minute that I wait. I am also teased by him and my friend at this point for being such a big baby. (I have 6 tattoos and my several piercings including my nape, so everyone thinks that I should be use to it.) So I summon what little courage I have left, stick my hands under my butt (to prevent them from flying up.), and tell him to "do it quick!" Which he does, and once again I shout some curse words very loudly. He cleans me up and tells me to have a look. They look ok to me.

We go out to the waiting room, which is now full of boys waiting to be pierced. They all look at me with big eyes (they could hear my tantrum) and ask me how it was. I smile, pay Pirate, get some after care tips and go home. They were fine until two months later when I started to get these weird white bumps on them. I kept cleaning them and finally one day pushed on one and lots of white stuff came out and later the area scabbed over. I went back to the shop several times but no one would really help me or tell me what they were or what to do. So I went to a different shop where the piercer was very helpful and changed the bars to longer ones and sent me home with sea salt. However that didn't work so now he has me using camomile tea bags on them (something about the herbs healing) and might change them to longer bars later on. He said if this dosn't work I will have to take them out and have them redone when they heal. He says that the original piercer put one a little far back so it is partly in my areola. So they are in slightly different places and kinda crooked.

Im glad I got them done. Even though I am having problems with them. If I have to take them out I will be upset but I can always have them done again. I am shocked that the first shop wouldn't help me, I didn't go in there and attack the way they were pierced, I just asked how to fix it. I doubt that I ever go back their again. I will just have to hope that the next time I get something pierced things will go better and the healing smoother.
