I've been wanting to get my nipples pierced for years and years (OK, maybe 3) but finally got the balls to do it this past Saturday. I had my fiance's mom and my best friend come with me. It took me a while to finally get up the guts to walk in and ask how much it cost. The guy at the counter was really cool and told me it was $43 plus tax. I'd heard really good things about this place (Needle Masters in Toledo, OH) so I decided, Why Not? I made the appointment for the next day and walked out of the place a bit nervous, but excited.
At A Glance Author Beth Contact Beth@bme.anon When It just happened Artist Tony Studio Needle Masters Location Toledo, OH My fiance had his nipples pierced about three years ago and he said it was no big deal. He was great with his encouragement and he made me be realistic about how it would feel. I thought for sure I'd be in so much pain and I'd pass out and vomit on the poor piercing person.
I had to keep psyching myself up for it because I was really nervous, odd because I have my belly button and nose pierced and three tattoos.
The next day came so fast. I went in, thinking Brandi was going to do the piercing and Tony was there. I thought, crap, I don't know if I want some strange guy playing with my nipples, but he seemed really nice and not perverted or anything. He told me to have a seat in the waiting room while he got his equipment together and he'd be out in a bit. My friend was on the friend with her boyfriend and giving me a hard time, trying to make me laugh since she could see how nervous I was. Tony came out and asked if I was ready. I thought to myself, "Now or Never". I followed him into the room and he told me to have a seat. He showed me all of the equipment and how it was all brand new and clean. I didn't really want to look at the needles really closely because I was afraid I might freak out and leave without getting 'em pierced. He joked with me and made me feel really comfortable, saying "I can't do this with our shirt on..." So I took off my shirt, feeling a bit naked (really!) He had me stand up and marked each side of my nipples with some sort of purple ink so he can see where to pierce them. Then he told me to sit down and take a few deep breaths and hold the third one. I did that and then I felt a SEARING pain. It hurt...lots. I think I said something like "Oh GOD!" and Tony joked with me that God wasn't gonna help me right now. He went on to the other nipple and pierced that one and I then felt a bit dizzy. I was so afraid I was going to pass out and I told Tony so. He called for Jaymz and asked him to bring in a wet paper towel, and before Jaymz opened the door, Tony put a clean paper towel over my chest so I wouldn't feel too bare. Tony took the moist paper towel and placed it on my forehead and Jaymz brought in a butterscotch candy so the sugar could help me out with not passing out. Tony put the rings in my nipples and closed the rings on the ball. My friend had to leave the room since she was getting a bit faint and she was 5 months pregnant. Tony asked how I was feeling and I said "su "\Ãw€ë rprisingly great!". He went over all the aftercare steps with me, recommend a few antibacterial soaps to use and gave me two small packs of sea salt that I was to dissolve in warm water and soak the piercings in a few times a day. He was very reassuring and I was glad that he was the one to do my piercings. He had told me before he even started with the 'procedure' that he's only had one person actually pass out when he was doing their piercing, and that reassured me.
All in all the experience was totally worth the slight pain during piercing. The next day they were a bit sore, but nothing I couldn't handle, having given birth. I use antibacterial soap to clean a couple of times per day and rinse well every time, then I use an eighth teaspoon of sea salt dissolved in warm water and soak each nipple using the solution in a shot glass to be sure the wounds heal correctly.
I highly recommend if you are nervous to get this done, just do it! I thought I'd be in pain for weeks afterwards, and here I sit just 2 days later and I forget I even had it done.
