Finally last week I got the courage to go get pierced. I had been researching for several weeks and contemplating whether or not to actually get my nipples pierced or not. Finally last Friday, after bombing a huge biology midterm, I said "enough is enough, wanna go get pierced?" My friend agreed, so we headed on our way.

We arrived into the haight about 7 o'clock, but the problem with Haight is, there is never any available parking. Finally after circling and circling, we found a spot. Parked and headed off.

We were originally headed to Cold Steele, but those ass holes wouldn't take anymore piercings that day because they already had like 3 people waiting. So we headed down the street to Mom's (Both places were highly recomended by several of my friends with mulitple piercings) We met Vaughn, who was awesome! He asked us a quick couple of Q & A's, then filled out the usual papers, paid, etc. Then he asked "If we have eatten anything within the past 4hrs, if not go get some odwalla or apple juice next door while i set up" So I did. He then came back out a few minutes later after cleaning down from his last victim, and called us back. As we walked to the back, I knew that this was going to be an interesting experience. The place had great music playing, and about 6 chairs. 2 were being used for tattooing.

Vaughn made the whole experience very relaxing and just someone I wasnt afraid to pierce me. (This was my second major body piericing) I took off my shirt, and stood up while he examined me and marked me for a minute or two. He then pulled out the needles and jewlery, changed gloves, cleaned down the jewlery. He went over the whole procedure and then it was time. Then I laid down and he cleaned my nipples.

He told me to start breathing and on 3 it would be piercing right after the next. So on three, he said here it comes, first a small pinch then a really big pinch. He wasn't lying. Then he did the right nipple. Once again, same method.

The pain was bareable, but not something i would like to feel there every day. It felt like a quick tittie twister. But sooo worth it. After the piercing he told me the aftercare directions and away I went.

The walk back to the car was interesting. It was first a burning sensation, then a warm sensation, then a unknown sensation, then back to the start again. It took until the next day for the mild tenderness to go away.

The next day when i began to soak in sea-salt, the crusties floated away and the piercing was feeling great. I hopped into the shower and showered up, I then procceeded to clean the piercings. I used Dr. Bronner's mild baby soap, as recommended by Vaughn, and lathered up and worked the soap into the piercing. When i got out, and patted down my chest with a paper towel I noticed minimal amount of bleeding.

For about 2 days, each time before i cleaned i noticed dried blood around the ring. By the 3rd day there was no more blood, and very minimal amount of crusties.

It is 5 days afterwards and I am loving every moment with them. My nipples are much more sensitive and reactive now. We are still gentle with them because they are healing.

The worst part was on Sunday I rolled over in my sleep and my left nipple got pulled and it tore a little bit. I have babied it since then, and it is back on track.

This is a MUST piercing for everyone. The pain is do-able, and the results are outstanding!

Of course it hurts, its a piercing, and of course the aftercare sucks because it takes time, but that is the point, you are adorning your body, making your temple better. In the end, I would do this again and again. I can't wait until i can stretch to a higher gauge.

Here is some advice for anyone getting this piercing done. Listen to your piercer when they say where a tight shirt to bed for the first week (especially if you are getting rings put in) They mean it. I thought i was wearing a tight enough shirt, but aparently I was wrong, the shirt was loose enough that the ring rolled straight, and when i rolled onto my stomach last night, it dug into the nipple/areola area. It hurt, and woke me up! Other then that, that was the only issue with mine.

I will definately recomend that anyone who wants to be pierced go to Mom's in S.f. It Rocks, and the People are awesome!
