Hello, I'm glad you have chosen to read my account. A bit of background. I am 25 year old female. I have always been into piercings but always been a bit scared of the pain. I had each of my ears pierced 11 times with the dreaded gun! I had my belly button pierced but that never healed so I retired that. I also have my tongue pierced. I never thought of getting my nipple pierced until I saw an article on the internet that said it can help inverted nipples. So I phoned up a few piercing shops. But none of them seemed confident piercing inverted or confused (sometimes they come out sometimes they don't) nipples. I phoned Coldsteel in Camden and spoke to Julia. She sounded lovely and very confident that she could pierce them. I made my appointment for later in the week.
At A Glance Author Den Contact Den@bme.anon When A week ago Artist Julie Studio ColdSteel Location Camden, London I spent the next week reading other girls experiences on BME. Some said it was awful pain and some didn't. But they all said it was well worth it.
Friday came. I was shitting a brick! Not so much about the piercing but about eh pain afterwards etc.
I arrived at Coldsteel. Met Julie, she was nice polite and very professional. WE went upstairs to be pierced. I wasn't shy of taking my top of because she made me feel very relaxed. So she was getting ready and I asked her about inverted nipples, Julie said that why most women have them pierced because they either have flat or inverted ones.
Here we go, I was ready. She put the little dots on my nipples while I was standing up. Then I laid on the blue tissue covered bed/chair. She coaxed my left nipple out with the clamp, which did not hurt at all. I was nervous because I thought I would be one of the girls it really hurts for. Breathe in, breath out and pierce! It was a shocking pain but no where near as bad as I thought it was going to be. Then for the jewellery, 14gauge titanium straight bars. She warned me that putting it would "make my toes curl" which it did! It felt like the needle going in again. But then it was done. I felt bit shaky but very happy that I hadn't chickened out. She let me relax for a minute while she sorted out stuff for second one. Did I want to continue? Of course! It's really not that bad. Now most experiences on BME say the second one is worst, I mentioned this and Julie said that it not worst but people just dread it, making it worse. Clamps on second one, (they did hurt bit more than first one, but I think I was just expecting them to). Breathe in, breath out, and pierce! Once again was just a shocking pain. Not nothing you can't handle. The jewellery went in. I just laid there afterwards shaking a bit, but very proud of myself for having it done. It really really is not as bad as people make it out to be. It does hurt but only for a second. Well 4 seconds! 2 seconds for the needles going in and 2 seconds for the bars in.
I stood up and had a look in the mirror! I was so happy with them at once. They looked lovely. No blood, no bruises, nothing just poky out nipps with little bars through.
I was nervous about putting my bra on, as I don't like feeling things rubbing over the ends of my nipples, so I recommend a padded but very soft tight bra. It felt fine.
Went down stairs she handed me a bottle of wash. Explained aftercare, although it was written on sheet she had given me. I said thanks and left.
On the way home, I was very aware of my nipples and felt that everyone was aiming for them. I dreaded someone bumping into them! I popped into pub for a quick vodka and paracetamol. By the time I was on train on the way home they felt much better. Throbbing, but not pain.
That night I was paranoid they would hurt so I slept with nothing on and the quilt pulled down so didn't touch them. Was not a good nights sleep because I was paranoid I was going to hurt them. The next day I went out and bought breast shells, they are plastic cup sort of things that breast feeding mothers use to protect their nipple and collect milk. They are perforated to allow air in. I wore them in bed that night and slept much better. 2 days later I felt brave enough to not have anything and I was fine. When you get cold or during sex you are aware that they are there because they get hard but it looks fantastic. I couldn't stop looking at them!
It's been a week now, and they do not bother me at all. I am aware they are there when I get cold etc. And of course still cleaning them everyday with salt soaks or antibacterial wash. But they feel fine. It's only been a week but I love them. It is well worth getting it done. Coldsteel comes highly recommended. May go back to get vertical hood piecing next!
