I've wanted to get my nipples done for a while now, I waited until Christmas break to get them done for a couple of reasons. First off, I could heal this way peacefully at home rather than at school, and secondly, Christmas means money, which means piercing.

I decided to get both of them done at the same time. The biggest reason why was just symmetry. Everything I've had done was either centered or there are two of them. I'd just feel weird with only one nipple pierced, I suppose. Uneven or something.

I went to Tom at Stainless Studios to get it done, pretty much because he's done everything recently for me. I got in, took off my coat, and we talked about healing and soap and so on. When showering, to use the same soap all over my body, to not get shampoo in my piercing, to not use products that could prove irritating, and so on. After basic explaining it was time to get them done.

First I stood up and Tom marked up my nipples. I felt sort of like I was going to have a boob job. When I was younger I read this autobiography by Jenny McCarthy (former Playmate of the Year, I guess around ten years ago) about her life. In it she described her boob job in it and how the doctor marked her up and examined how the markings looked before putting her having the surgery. I've never had anyone draw on my nipples, tell me to take two steps back, then stare intently at my nipples before. It was sort of surreal and I'm surprised I wasn't laughing, or at least giggling. I was blushing I'm pretty sure though.

After Tom seeming satisfied with my nipple placement, I was to lie down and have my nipples cleaned or wiped off or whatever you want to call it. So that was done. Then the actual needle came.

But first came the clamp. I thought that it would hurt a lot more than it did. When I got my surface piercings done the clamp was more painful than the actual needle. But not this time. For some reason I barely felt the clamp. The needle hurt a lot more, it was a sort of shooting pain. The first one wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It went fairly quickly.

I had a friend come with me to get them done in case I got scared and needed someone's hand to dig my nails into. But I was fine on my own. She stayed in the room, but I didn't request to grab onto her. I was clenching my hands after having the first one done, though. I didn't even realize it. It's just a habit to make fists when I'm nervous.

I didn't take a break between the first and the second nipple. I could have, but I figured that I might as well get them both done with right away. Tom warned me that the second one would hurt more because I'd know what the pain was like. I tried not to think of the pain as the needle was going through, I was looked at Tom or the wall instead, but it still did hurt a lot more. I guess I was subconsciously thinking about it going in. When you're trying not to think of something it's always really on your mind.

After that I had gauze taped on my nipples because my bra wasn't clean (I wore it the day before) and off I went. The pain was coming and going on the ride home. It was a sort of throbbing pain, and it would vary between nipples. Sometimes the right one would be hurting, sometimes the left.

Sleeping wasn't that bad. I hate sleeping on my back so I slept on my side, it was pretty restless though, I must have been tossing and turning. I also had a heavy blanket that I didn't want resting on my nipples. There would be less pressure that way. Cleaning my nipples gave me a scare. I was just soaking them in sea salt like I was supposed to and my left one started bleeding quit a bit. I've never had a piercing really bleed before. The right one was fine though. No blood at all. I never even thought about them bleeding.

Now it is the next day and the pain seems to be gone. No more throbbing. No more blood. They're actually acting a lot nicer than I thought. Much less painful. I haven't really touched them or played with them yet, which is good, apparently they will heal faster that way. I am also getting my sister to wash my hair over the bathtub to avoid getting any shampoo in the piercings.
