I've always wanted to get my nipples pierced, but it just never happened. Actually, I never thought I would really do it. In the weeks approaching my 23rd birthday, I started to feel old...I'm graduating from college in May and am going to have to be grown up...so I decided that I needed to do one last thing that was young and stupid. (I know that I'm not old, and it's not stupid to get things pierced, but you know what I mean.) I just think that there is something hot and fun about having a piercing that nobody knows about unless you want him or her to. I mean, what can possible be better than that? I finally decided that it would be my birthday present to myself, but I was smart enough to get them done the week before my birthday...piercing hurt! I have my belly button and tongue done; I also used to have my eyebrow done. And, I have two tattoos, so while I don't consider myself a piercing pro I did feel like I was experienced when it came to needles. Boy, I was wrong!
At A Glance Author anonymous Contact anonymous@bme.anon When A week ago Artist Marianne Studio Phat Joe's (formerly Sillohuettes) Location Off of Bird road in Miami, FL I decided to go to Phat Joes (it used to be called Silhouettes) because that is where I have gotten other piercing done...all done my Marianne (I think that's her name). My tongue is the only one that I didn't get done there and that was a big mistake. I got it done at Circus tattoo on South beach. It is done crooked, slanting from left to right. I never took it out because I really like it. But I would never go there again. The place is super clean and they are really nice. I also felt a lot more comfortable having a female do the piercing instead of a male, although I know it's kind of hard to find female pierces. She began by asking me to take off my shirt and stand so she could figure out what size rings I needed and also to mark where she would be piercing. She then had me sit down as she got everything ready. My friend was there for support (although I think she was also entertained!).
Marianne then clamped my left nipple. It hurt so badly. All I could think of was how some people like this S/M stuff during sex...I don't get it because that stuff hurt! I remembered my tongue and belly button also used clamps and that the clamp hurt worse than the actual piercing... I was wrong. Way, way, way, way, way wrong! I could feel the needle going through as I screamed. I swear that it took her 10 hours to do it because that's what it felt like. She kept apologizing for it hurting sooooooo bad. Then she had to put in the ring, which also hurt a lot. I got to captive bead rings put in. I just don't really like barbells; it makes you look like you have three nipples! That's just me though. Plus, I think that hoops heal better because you can clean the piercing a lot easier then with barbells. As she was piercing I felt a sharp shooting pain go through my whole body! It was quite possibly the worst pain I have ever felt. At this point I wasn't sure that I could go through and do the right one because the left one hurt SO bad. I even contemplated taking out the left one just, but then realized that I would have gone through all of that pain for nothing!
Then my friend called and he told me that I couldn't do just one...that I had to get the other one done. So after about 10 minutes of calming down I told Marianne to just do the next one. The right one didn't hurt as bad...but it still HURT! It definitely took every amount of pain tolerance out of me to get them both done. I swear, if I had to get another nipple pierced I wouldn't be able to do it!
I was sore for about 24 hours...but since then I am rarely sore. I clean twice a day with dial soap and do a salt soak every day. Also, whenever I'm home I take off my shirt/bra so that the piercing gets air. I sleep in a sports bra and haven't had any problems. I've also had some problems buying new clothes. I usually wear tight shirts that I don't need to wear a bra with, but I don't like people being able to see them.
Looking back, as much as it hurt (and I wont lie, it did) I would do it again...I like how they look and can't wait till they heal so that I can have a boy play with them!
