About a year ago, I was going through a stage of wanting a new piercing and after long searches on the Internet and going through magazines; I found a perfect one I wanted- A nipple piercing!

Me and my friend Hannah walked into Spellbound in Wolverhampton and told the lady at the desk what I wanted done. I handed her my I.D and money (which was 20 pound) and that's when my nerves started to kick in. I was shaking so bad that after i paid I tried to walk out the shop but the woman at the counter told me to go for a walk whilst Mel (my piercer) was doing another piercing for someone else. So 10 minutes or so later, I came back slightly more comfortable and Mel came in and sat me down on the bed and told me to take my top and bra off which I did.
Then as she prepared the needle she turned to me and said "calm down it doesn't hurt" in which I asked if she had it done. To my surprise she said no. Which made me feel more uncomfortable then what I first started?
She then brought the needle over and wiped my nipple clean of any bacteria then told me to look at the ceiling which I did, feeling slightly dizzy. I then felt the clamp, which everyone says is the worst part but to be honest it didn't bother me. I then feel a tingling going through my nipple, so I looked down and saw the needle through my nipple and I just smiled knowing it was over with since there was no more pain after the bar had been put in and I got some cleaning notes and was sent on my way!
Three weeks later, Hannah asked me if I wanted a new piercing in which I replied with a yes.
I then decided to get my right nipple done since I had already got my left one done.
This time I walked in all confident knowing it didn't hurt last time so it wouldn't this time...I was wrong.
I sat down and took my top off as I did last time and noticed Mel had a bar this time round even though I had only paid 20 pound like last time for a ring and bars are 5 pound more expensive. She said it didn't matter and carried on. I looked up after I had my nipple wiped, then had the clamp on and then felt such a nasty pain going through my right nipple!! I noticed she had done it BEHIND the actual nipple unlike before. Anyway.. I was cleaned up and sent on my way but a few days later I noticed that the bar which was put in was too small for me since my nipple had swollen and the balls had started to get embedded inside me, so I simply changed my ring and bar round and everything was fine!
A bit of advice, if you want a nipple piercing. I recommend you get it THROUGH the actual nipple itself. Saves a lot of pain.
Since then, I got 2 more nipple piercings, meaning I have two on each. I was dreading having my left nipple pierced the second time, knowing it would have to be behind the nipple, but to be honest it weren't as bad as it was the first time round but Mel had a bit of trouble with getting the bar in which caused quite a bit of pain. Then when it came to getting my right second piercing going down, didn't hurt what so ever and I love them so much!
I have had quite a few problems with my right nipple one's and decided it would be best to take out the horizontal piercing and things have got a lot better but it was so heartbreaking to take it out permanently. Mel gave me loads of advice on how to look after my piercing, such as salt water washes and how not to wear bra's which are too tight.
I also went crazy with the piercing in my left one by putting a spiky mine ball which was supposed to be an earring, though my nipple, which ended up in me waking up with blood everyone. Be careful and sensible about what you chose to wear in your piercing since it will chance how your nipple heals. A nice simple bar was the best option i think since rings kept spinning round inside me taking things such as dry crust back into the piercing which did give quite a sharp pain.
