I have had my nipple piercing for just over a year now and I must say I love it! I really do think it is one of the best piercings you can get, not only does it look really good it can also be used in 'the bedroom'. Pretty and Pratical!

I was very nervous of getting my nipple pierced. Not only had a previous navel piercing got infected and left me slightly scarred, but it was my nipple, If that got infected then I think my self confidence would have plumetted to the point of no return. If it got infected I knew that it would suck big time!

I had never thought about getting my nipple pierced before, in fact I had thought the idea was horrible a year before I got it pierced. It started when at a break at school, we were talking about getting piercings done and my friend said she'd like her nipple pierced but did not have the guts to get it done. I bragged that I would get my nipples pierced, suddenly every one was daring me to get it done. To prove to my mates that I was not a wimp I decided to get my nipple pierced.I had just turned 16 (the legal age for piercing without parents consent in UK) so i realised that I would never be found out.And as the piercing was on my nipple there was no way that my parents would ever see it, as I'm not going to strip in front of them!

A week on from that break I found my self in side our local piercing shop asking for my nipple to be pierced. I had brought my two friends along with me, Danielle and Mel for moral support. They had both had piercings (navel and Tragus) done at this studio and had no complications so I trusted it completely. I found out that it would only cost me £25, which compared to some other piercings (lip £35, Navel £30-50 etc)it was relatively cheap.I was told that I had to come back in 20 mins. I was also told to eat something containing a lot of sugar. So I went and bought a load of sugary sweets as I had not eaten breakfast and you are not meant ot have piercings done if you have low sugar levels apparently. So there I was stuffing my self with sweets and feeling sick because

a) I was nervous

b) I had eaten about 10 billion fruit pastielles

20 mins later I was back inside sitting in the piercing studio My friends had to praticially push me in. I was really nervous and emabarrased about having to get my boob out in front of my friends. I picked my left nipple to be pierced as I thought about which side I sleep on as I did not want it to catch and bleed. I was 'measured' for my ring size while DL cleaned my nipple and numbed it with a spray. She clamped my nipple and pushed the needle through. It was sooooooooo painful, I couldn't help but cry! it was most painful getting the ring in as she could not get the ball in. It did not bleed a lot and I was told to buy some antiseptic spray and use it twice a day.

On the bus back home I regretted what I had done and was thinking about taking it out when I got home...

How glad am I that I didn't?!?!?!

I absolutely love it now, I have had no trouble with it and never seen a drop of blood or pus, it healed within a month. A year on and I still love it, my boyfriend also loves my piercing as well and I found that it has made me more open about sex and I have more confidance in my body.I have never taken out the original ring as I am scared I will not be able to put the ball back in between the ring because it was so painful with a proffesional piercer!

I am now currently looking for a new piercing, but I don't know what to choose, I do not really want anything that is on my face. Iam thinking about getting an industrial put through my ear (in England we call them Scaffolds by the way) but I am still unsure. I have been looking through this site to give me some ideas and there are some truly amazing piercings here, although they are a little drastic for me!

I think that everyone should research into where they have chosen to get their piercing done before they go through with it, that way there will be less chance of getting the piercing infected. My best advice is to ask around friends and other people where they got their piercings from, if they look good and healed in good time then there is also a good chance that your piercing will be as successful as theirs.

LONG LIVE THY NIPPLE PIERCING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
