I have been wanting a new piercing for a while now. My last piercing was my left tragus and that was done in March so I thought it was time for something new. I had been toying with the idea of getting my nipples pierced for some time now. I figured it would hurt, but it doesn't matter to me, I have tattoos and to me, those are killer so I figured, I could handle nipple piercings. Honestly, having a piece of metal shoved through a body part isn't exactly going to feel wonderful, so you have to expect some amount of pain. Then, the more research i did on it, the more I started to realize I wanted to get them done and I was really starting to get excited about doing it. The only thing stopping me was the fact that I have heard it affects your breastfeeding. As I read more about the piercing, I found that it really doesn't affect breastfeeing. When I found that out, I decided that I was going to get my nipples pierced.

I was hanging out with my friend, Katie one day and we were just running some errands and I told her that I really wanted to get my nipples pierced. She said to me, "Fuck it, let's go right now." I knew I wanted to do it, but I didn't think I was ready for that pain at the moment. But,after alot of thinking and alot of her coaxing, I decided if I didn't do it then, I would chicken shit my way out of it. So, it was off to Nathan's we went. The whole ride there I freaking out in my head. I kept going back and forth, but when we pulled into the driveway i knew there was no turning back. I was scared, but also very very excited.

I walked into Nathan's and the people there are so awesome. They make you feel great and not so nervous. I trust them completely. I went up to the counter, filled out my paper work, and handed it over to the little, short gal helping me. I looked at Katie and said, "Ok, it's a girl doing it, i'm not so scared now". But then, a guy came in and said, "Alright Alyssa, let's take you in the back." I was afraid that I would get stage fright or something in front of him. It's not everyday i take my shirt off for random guys. But, he was so friendly and made me feel very comfortable. Plus, Katie came in with me to hold my hand. I got more and more excited.

Sean came back in the room with all the needles and what not. At that point I was shitting my pants. Before I took my shirt off, I asked him about breastfeeding and he said that nipple piercings only affect 1-2 ducts in your nipple so it won't affect breastfeeding later on. That put me at ease. I also asked him if I could lose sensitivity in my nipples because let's face it, that would totally suck! But, he reasurred me that everything would be fine. After my session of questioning him, I was ready to do it! So, he got my first nipple all ready to go, took the clamp, told me to breathe in really deep and then BAM! it was in. He put the barbell in and tightened the balls which probably hurt more than the actually piercing. Katie said to me, "Oh my god, it's so cute!" I thought so too. Then, i asked him if I could have a drink of water or something. He went outside and brought me back a cup of water and told me to get ready for the next one. I heard that the second one hurts the most. I asked Sean and he said, "Yea, the second one usually hurts more, but you're a champ, you'll be just fine." I was scared, but i got ready. He pierced the second one, which hurt like hell, but it was worth it. In the end I had two beautiful barbells in my nipples and I love them! After the piercing was over, I paid he and tipped him. It cost me about 80 bucks for both of them, which I heard is actually pretty good. He explained to me about the cleaning procedure and the do's and dont's of the piercings. They are alittle sore and tender now and it hurts alittle bit when they rub against my clothes, but I'm sure that in a few more weeks, they will be perfect and I will love them. They will be a great investment. I recommend nipple pierceing to whoever wants them. Just make sure that you go to someone you trust. Good luck with your new piercings!
