In the back on my head I had always wanted my nipples pierced. Yet I never put much more thought into it. My friend and I had been planning this date for a couple months. Our intention was not to get my nipples pierced but to get our clitoral hoods pierced. A couple of days before the date we set I changed my mind. What changed my mind so suddenly I am not sure but it had nothing to do with any bad experiences I heard about clit piercings. I decided on my nipples. I had done some research and I figured why not? It seemed harmless and not as painful as well... "down there".

I was really jealous because she was so open and free-spirited about the whole thing while I was sweating bullets trying not to pass out. I was very nervous knowing that I would be next. The waiting seemed like forever but finally it was my turn.
First things first, picking out the jewelry to be put in. I asked what heals the best, I wanted barbells but would have settled for hoops depending. Doug told me that he recommended barbells and took out 2 different gauges. A 12 and 14. I picked out a 14 gauge barbell instead of a 12 because I figured 12 might be too big. I sat down and right as I was about to take off my shirt Doug got called into the other room. Great... more waiting. He told me when he came back there was a guy getting a penis going through a brain tattooed on his forearm (explanation: every week they give out free tattoos of things NO ONE would ever want, just to see if anyone would actually get it done). That took my mind off the situation a little, now I was really ready.
For some reason I wasn't uncomfortable at all taking my shirt off. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with the fact we are pretty well acquainted. Now the entire procedure took about 20 minutes and most of the time he was making sure the dots were even. I guess my nipples aren't very "nippley" because he said he wouldn't be able to use the clamps. After he told me he wouldn't need the clamps he asked if I was left or right handed (I guess if you're right handed your left nipple is more sensitive), I told him so he started with my left. He free handed my left nipple... suprising no pain. This wasn't bad at all. The whole time he made me feel very comfortable and asked me how things were going. He also reminded me of my breathing which helped a lot. Than came my right nipple, hurt a little more but not bad at all. I was done! It was fairly quick and I didn't feel light headed or anything. He said since it didn't hurt much I probably don't have very sensitive nip ples. Doug even offered me a Otter Pop aka Flavor Ice. Unfortunately right after I got locked out of my car in 40 degree weather, my nipples were definitely feeling it.
The after care was easy... 2-3 times a day with antimicrobial soap using Q-Tips to clean around the holes. Best time to clean them is in the shower. I was reminded NO DIRTY HANDS (or mouths) during the healing process. I had no crustiness or bloodiness after the first few days passed. Whenever I could I wouldn't wear a bra. This allows air to get to the piercing and promotes healing as most of you know. It's been over a month and I have no discomfort and I'm down to washing them once a day. The only problem I come across is when my bra accidently hits them when I'm putting it on. The most important thing is probably to keep your hands off the new piercings. I never touched them with my hands during this first month and I haven't had a single complaint.
My nipples have been the easiest piercing out of the 17 I have. They were worth the $80 I spent on them and would do it all over again in a heartbeat. My nipples have got to also be, on top of the easiest, the most exciting piercing I have. I would recommend it to any girl who is somewhat experienced in body modification or at least knows what to expect because you definitely need to be able to handle the hassle of aftercare. The piercings look very feminine and make you very comfortable with your body. Before I was somewhat insecure about my body but the piercings are so pretty it's very hard not to feel confident.
