I just had my nipples pierced. Since I work in a professional environment and visable piercings are a nono I have long put off getting anything pierced but thats fine, I'll just wear a shirt, and as I have recently learned, depending on the mood I am in certain fabrics can deliver wonderful sensations.

I am a firm beliver in two things, Safety and knowledge, both of which are very important in my life since I work with and around people and lots of guns (No idiots allowed). Safty is really high on the list of job qualities since at the end of the day I will be going home. Which is why I am very impressed with the work and method of the Mystical Illusions studio here in Oklahoma City.

I began my endevor with wanting to be pierced by MASSIVE ammounts of research online (including many hours reading stories here at BME) and in many magazines, I asked many of my friends about their piercings and finally made up my mind. Then I waited a while to see if my mind was still made up... Yep, it was.

So, I went in several days ago and asked them all of the questions that I could think of. Safty, piercing, aftercare, and there were several points that they made that I didn't know and am glad I now do, like how dry vapor sterilization isn't legal in Oklahoma. Though I only trust autoclave sterilization, but thats just me.

Then today... I went for my return visit...

I went in and the same gentlemen were there (I find this as humorous in that they had more metal in tham than some cars and yet they were both very well spoken and more curtious than my doctor), and I was of course recognised from my first visit. I chose out 14ga hoops, I fear that I would snag barbells on to many things, and we took care of all the forms and taked over the procediure before I was lead into the back room (A nother thing I was impressed with was that their actual room where they do the piercings was increadably clean... deffinate thumbs up).

Before going any furter I should clarify that I HATE NEEDLES.. ok

So I was sat on the hot seat and I pulled my shirt off. DM (I cant remimber his name, but he did initial the paperwork) marked my nipples with the pen. Taking the clamp he took my right nipple and had me take a deep breath...

"Ok, Exhaile"

!!!PAIN!!!

Mind searing, worlds exploding pain.

It took me a few seconds to untangle my fingers from my pantlegs, and I was pretty light headed after this, trying to catch my breath and keep my balance. DM asked me if I was ready for the second or if I wanted to postpone. Fearing I would not make it back soon (I am uaually quite busy) I gave him the ok to continue and he readied the left nipple in the clamp... picked up the needle...

And then I passed out... All I remember was swimming in a blurry, grey world and then numbly watching as the universe slowly came back into focus. I was quite embarrassed, But it happens and they had me revived quite quickly and were exceptionally well once I was calmed and relaxed again. Several minutes, and more exploding worlds of pain, later I had the left hoop in and DM was putting the balls in place with the special pliers and packing everything up while I went to catch my breath on the nice big comfy couch they have. Sitting there admireing the lovely silver rings that glinted from my chest, while we went over after care instructions. They gave me the sea salt and let me know what I should and should not do, and told me to call if I had any questions.

Every one was very nice... It was a safe and clean experience...

And best of all after 3 hours of having them I love my new piercings.

FOOT NOTE:

Well it is now 8 hours later and I have one thing that should be added to the after care guidelines. Don't play "Pump it up" or "Dance Dance Revolution" for a couple days afterwards. My piercings are now really sore due to the repeated bouncing of the hoops. Though to my suprise, the sweat itself did not cause any painful sensations, but the seasalt that I was given for soaks is quite painful (obviously). But even with all of the pain, I like my piercings, and maybe one day when I have time I may get a few more.

As a final point I should add what I was told about choosing a piercing studio. Ask to see their room. Ask to see their autoclave. And have them explain everything. If you are uncertain about anything at all don't do it. I had the possability to have mine done for cheeper at a different studio but I was worried about the risk of their equipment not being as I wanted it, so I paid alot more and have something that I am happy with. It's your body, health, and satisfaction that is important.
