For me, any type of body modification is addicting. So after my tongue healed, I was researching another piercing that would suite me well. I started to look at the pictures and experiences of standard nipple piercing. I LOVED the look of it. I decided that was what I was going to do next. So I then set out on the chore of convincing my husband, who does not really get into body modification. To my surprise, he was as excited I was to get it done! He wanted me to have both done at the same time, but because of my job, I decided to have one done. I work in a nursing home and I have to help lift residents, so not knowing what exactly the kind of pain involved I wanted a "good lifting side".

I knew right away I wanted to go to New Breed to have it done. Many people I know have been there and had nothing but praise about their work and cleanliness. Early in the morning I called them to ask about the piercing, like price and when she would be available. She was not busy this night, so I decided that if I was going to do it, it had to be today!

I loaded my kids into the car and set out to a friends house so I could go. My husband was working out of town, so I wanted to shock him when he got home tonight. I set out for the twenty minute drive to the shop. It seemed like an eternity. I had butterflies in my stomach! I finally got there and went in.

I looked around and I was the only person in there. I was glad, didn't give me time to talk myself out of it. I walked to the counter and the woman who was going to be doing it took my ID and I filled out a form. When I was done, she told me come back to the piercing room.

She washed her hands and put on gloves. Then I watched her take all the supplies out and open everything, all the while talking to me and answering all my questions. She then asked me to take off my shirt and bra so that she could clean my nipple and mark the enter and exit sites for the holes. After that, she told me to lay down and relax. Lori told me the clamps might be of some discomfort, but they were not that bad. (As an ex-breastfeeding mother my nipples lost some sensitivity) Then came the words, "Take a deep breath... and another...". And then she put the needle in. I will not lie, it was discomforting, but I didn't yell out or anything. The worst part was putting the jewelry in, but again, nothing to scream over. And it only seemed like seconds when she said I was done. I got up and looked in the mirror. It was so cute! She gave me my aftercare instructions and told me call her day or night if I had a question about anything! She also gave me a sheet ex plaining the care and she put her number on it. I put my bra and shirt back on and headed out to pay and leave a tip.

I picked my kids up and headed for home, as it was late and they were tired. At this point the only pain I have is a dull throbbing. My husband was home by then and I rushed in to see him. I told him I had a surprise for him and I lifted my shirt and bra. His eyes got as big as saucers and he said that he thought I would never go through with it. Guess I showed him! I had to go back out to the store for the Dial soap she said was good and a sports bra. I thought that might be more comfortable to work in.

I am going to have the other nipple done, but I am going to wait until I am somewhat healed. But as I writing this, I feel no pain at all. I bet it will be a different story in the morning after I wake up.

My advice to those women who want this piercing done, but is afraid to because of their husband, just talk to him about it, and be prepared to answer his questions. Just do your research. That way he will think that you have a really good hold on the subject and might be more apt to go along with it.

If anybody wants to talk to me about my experience or have any other questions, please feel free to email me. I check my mail daily.

Go for it and happy nipple piercing!
