Life is so boring. I desire adventure, I seek it, I crave it, I need it, I AM IT! Getting a piercing was just the next obvious adventure. Once again, it brings other adventure seekers to me as well, and lets other people know I am an adventure seeker. The first time you get anything pierced there is an adrenaline rush; excitement pumps through your veins and you get hyper and stuck in a great mood all day. Getting a nipple pierced is that experience all over again! It's great, its a thrill, its a passion. I am always looking for new adventures. My decision to get my nipples pierced was very spur of the moment. I had never really thought about it much until the week of my birthday when I felt it was a good time to give myself a present and get a new piercing. I had gotten an industrial only a few weeks before, and I almost waited until that healed, but I figured it will take almost a year and that's way too long for me to wait. I decided to get them when I saw a picture of a pretty girl with slanted barbells and decided I needed them immediately. Before that I had always thought of them as kind of a slut piercing that really doesn't have a lot of meaning or class.

I went to sacred heart off Westeimer and Taft where I have gotten my labret, marilyn and industrial at... they do great work. Nipples are typically done with 14 gauge or bigger, so I went with 14 gauge straight barbells. Tim said the straight barbells tend to keep the piercings from surfacing and coming out of your skin better than curved and rings. Taking my shirt off in front of someone I don't know was somewhat strange, but Tim was very nice and quickly cleaned me up with the antibacterial wash stuff. I chose to get them pierced horizontally, just for something a little different than what I had seen most of the time. Tim marked the spots on both sides and made me stand up in order to get them exactly even. Then he moved the chair to where it is laying back and I can lie down, and clamped my right side first. The pain was kind of strange, not really pain at all, and once they were done they didn't hurt anymore. The second one hurts worse because of the lack of endorphins since you use most of them up during the first but even the second wasn't too bad, just really intense... it almost felt good. I felt a little faint and sat down for a while before leaving, but nothing too terrible. They were really nice and gave me my dr. Bronners magic soap to clean it with. I've had this soap before with my other piercings and I love it. If your piercings hurt it will actually take away some of the pain, they feel a lot better after you wash with it, and its really strong, one bottle will last you a really long time... months at least.

The only time I felt any pain was about an hour after when I tried to put my bra back on, but it was too tight so I left them alone for the evening. It's been a few months now and they have had no pain, except once or twice when I get them caught on something. I wash them once a day when I shower and I typically spray then with Bactine a couple times a day or at any time I think they might have gotten dirty.

The attention they bring alone makes it well worth getting them. First, everyone who has them can relate. I've met a ton of girls that are now friends because we were both interested in piercings. Not only does it start conversations with other piercers; it starts conversations with guys. Yes, sometimes they can be lame and perverted but some guys are genuinely interested in the art. So it has brought together other people to become acquaintances that share a common interest. I've only shown a couple people right when I got them out of excitement, but just having them and knowing they are there during you day makes you feel sexier, like you have a secret that only those you share it with will know. I even convinced my best friend to get hers done as well the day after I got mine! She loves them too and we always ask how the other are doing, if the healing process is still going smoothly and share our feelings... haha.

They look great and are by far the easiest piercings I've ever gotten... I love them, yay!!!!

I recommend them to anyone, and I have also done research on whether they can effect breast feeding and have found they rarely if ever cause complications with it. Also I still have sensitivity in my nipples, it didn't affect them at all.
