So it was about a year ago that I decided to get my nipples pierced. I was 18, and I have a fair amount of other piercings, 0g lobes, 6g lobes, 6x14g helixes, 14g tongue and 14g navel. I had been told nipples hurt more than any of those. For me, they were right.

It took no decision at all, to choose where I was going. Luckily for me, they had an opening, because like always, I hadn't made an appointment.
I have fairly large breasts, about a 38DD, and the lady told me as soon as I walked into the shop that they might cause some problems. The weight of my breasts pressing against the bra would put pressure on the piercings, causing them to migrate and eventually fall out. I really wasn't concerned at that point about what might happen 6 months to a year from then, so I did it anyways. Little did I realize then, they would migrate and I would have to take them out a little over a year later.
I have to say, the hardest part was taking my top off. I am really very shy and I a bit uncomfortable, but how was he supposed to pierce me through my shirt? So, I got naked from the waist up and let him wipe them clean and mark them. Then, he clamped one. It hurt. It hurt a lot. But I was prepared for it, the needle actually wasn't as bad as I had thought. But still, I maintain that anyone who tells you nipple piercings don't hurt must have had a way different experience that I did. I actually thought about not getting the second one done, but a voice inside of me said "go head" when he asked if I still wanted the other one done. I waited as he clamped and pierced that one too. The needles were still in and when I looked at them, they looked kind of funny. I caught myself watching him put the jewellery in, which is something they don't recommend.
The pain wasn't as bad once he put the little sticky bandages on them. He instructed me to leave them on for no more than 24 hours, and to wash them twice a day with a mild soap and to soak them in sea salt once a day. I did as I was instructed and in less than a month they were not nearly as sore as they had been. Because of the size of my breasts, I had to stop shaving my legs in the shower, and do it when I had a top on. When I went over to shave my legs my the shower, my nipple would hit my leg and it really hurt!
After about 4 months I changed the captive bead rings to 1/2" barbells, which were not long enough. They got irritated and I had to put in 5/8" barbells. I guess I have really big nipples or something, who knows. So after that little mishap, they began healing a lot better in the longer barbells.
I didn't notice any migrating until about 8 months after the procedure. They were starting look as if less and less skin was holding the barbells in. I put my old 1/2" barbells in, and they fit. I knew that what I had been warned about was now happening. I left them in for another 2-3 months and then when it got to the point where you could almost see the barbell through the remaining skin, I took them out. I have small scars, but nothing anyone would notice unless I pointed them out. It was small price to pay for the experience I gained. I also got a lot of attention, having boys and girl asking to see them or what it felt like. It was weird at the beginning but I got used to it. I even would purposefully wear bra that weren't padded so you could see them through my top.
Now I really miss my nipple rings very much. I often think about getting them re-done but then I remember how thy migrated. I would have to get them pierced deeper, which would be more painful, but then they might stay in longer, or not migrate at all. I am also thinking of having a breast reduction. If I do, then I will get them re-done for sure. I want to go from a 38DD to a 38C. That way I will have a lot less problems, and migrating nipples will be one that I will hope to get rid of. Hopefully it wont be too long before I will be writing an experience about getting my nipples re-pierced!
