My boyfriend and I decided to get our nipples done a few months back. At first I wasn't totally convinced as I'd never thought of having that part of me pierced before. The day we intended to go I was immensely excited, as I always am with all piercing. Although I was just slightly more nervous than usual. My boyfriend though was a lot more worried than me especially when we found out that nipples are generally more painful for men than women. This is because with men the incisions goes through the skin around the nipple rather than on women were it goes through the nipple itself. This I think frightened him a lot however he was comforted by the fact that we were in the hands if the best piercer in the North West Carl. Sean and I love Carl he has been so great to us answering millions of our questions and putting up with our problems. When Sean got his ears pierced at 2.4 mm and then pulled out that same night at a gig, Carl came to the rescue the next day re-piercing, stretching and replacing the jewellery for free. He is one top bloke and highly recommended to anyone in the area, as there are so many dodgy studios around Liverpool and he and Shirley his wife do everything they can to put you at ease.
Finally there I was sitting on the bed waiting to be marked, I wasn't even as embarrassed as I thought I was going to be, it was such a relaxed environment and I felt extremely comfortable. Next I was told to lie back whilst Carl put the clamps on it was really only a small cold sensation on my nipple not the violent, painful feeling I was led to believe. He told me to close my eyes and start to breathe in and out. Then after about ten seconds he stuck the needle through. Honestly I hardly felt a thing just like a little pinch, soon after it began to get really warm but it wasn't uncomfortable. The most uncomfortable part was when he put the jewellery in but even then it wasn't enough to make you flinch. The was one tiny drop of blood but I never even saw it because I had my eyes closed and it was sorted out before I even knew about it. Carl put a clear protective large plaster like thing on it. It was only then when I looked down and I saw it for the first time. It was abso lutely amazing and I fell in love with it straight away. The pain now was just like a dull pulse sensation which was actually rather pleasant. Carl had previously given us the after care instructions which kept to his religious methods of leaving it alone and not touching it at all with anything, and just showering to keep it clean. I had used this method previously and it was always successful.
Next it was Sean's turn as I am not him and I can't give a true account of what he went through I don't feel I am permitted to do so. However I am very proud of him he coped with it extremely well considering he was so worried about it. Carl did some intensive calming techniques on him, even slight hypnotherapy, however at the last minute he panicked and Carl had to start again. This time he was determined to go through it no matter what. After some more relaxation he finally did it. Some people may be wondering what is the point in going through all that if you're so afraid, but the look on Sean's face as soon as the jewellery went in said it all. He was so pleased that he had conquered his fear and finally got it done.
The rest of that day we were both a little tender but it was fine to sleep on. The next day I was sensitive but apart from that I haven't felt anything since. I suppose this differs from person to person but generally it is not as painful as people will expect. I absolutely adore my nipple it looks great I especially recommend it to girls with smaller breasts don't be disheartened because of it, as it's a quicker healing process. The results are great and your nipples become really sensitive its totally worth it!
