" It doesnt hurt at all" they said it "stings a little", well I can obviously say my experience of having my nipple pierced was quite different to what other people had said to me!

A lot of people have found pleasure through this experience, I beg to differ. Maybe my pain barrier was on a low that day...who knows!

I had wanted my nipple pierced since...well since I can remember, when I was 13 I wanted it done, not for any particular reason I just thought it look pretty good. When I turned 18, yes I chickened out several times, so when I did have the money to get it done I wouldn`t go to the piercers I`d waste my money on other things.

I think I may have chickened out so many times beacuse I really didn`t know what to expect, how much pain would I go through? How long does it take to heal? I had so many questions but never seeked the answers due to my wimpish attitude to pain!

I moved away to University and spotted a piercing studio, there I had my Monroe done and the piercer seenmed pretty cool.

Walking through town one day I got bored and walked straight into the shop and asked to get my nipple pierced. I had my two friends with me and the male friend of mine wanted to come in with me but I felt this was something I had to do on my own. As I walked to the piercing room I felt quite confident, I knew I had succeeded in doing something I`ve wanted to do for years, this time I was not going to turn back and run away like a scared little child!

I walked into the piercing room, sat down and he asked me to take the desired nipple out of my bra (arghh....random person staring at my breast). Anyway, he stared at it for ages then made some marks with a pen to help him position where the piercing was to go. He sprayed some antiseptic on it and put some freezing gel/creme onto it ( I came to find this stuff didn`t freeze it all ), he positioned the clamp onto my nipple and put the needle in there slowly. One word to describe it " Fuck "...well thats what I shouted anyway to my embarressment!

It bled a little while putting the bar in but didn`t seem so painful, just a little tender. He put gauze on it or a big plaster really and there...it was done, all over, I can`t believe I had it done...finally!

I walked through town holding my breast (I must have looked a fool), it was very sore and I daren`t touch it as it was so tender. I went staright to a chemist to buy some antiseptic creme ( I`m very fussy about aftercare, which is obviously a good thing).

A few hours later I took the plaster off and it looked revolting, the blood had dried and it looked nasty and very crusty (eww) I washed the nipple with salt water and it didn`t look so bad!

I think my friend felt quite sick as I described what it looked like, she has no piercings at all and I think I may have put her off the idea now! haha!

A tip I got from a friend is filling the sink with water, put salt in and put you nipple in for a few minutes,it certainly worked because it cleaned it well. With the help of some antiseptic cream it helped to heal it quite nicely.

It has only now healed properly, I haven`t had any trouble with it at all... well, apart from catching it a few times and getting it hit but apart from that it looks great, after showing it to a few people I think I may have convinced them to get their nipple/s pierced.

I have spoken to many people about their nipple piercings and I`ve had so many different responses, I guess it`s all to do with your pain barrier and that day mine wasn`t too good at all! But it was definately worth it... no pain no gain is what they say and that certainly works for me when it comes to tattoos and piercings.

I`m actually considering getting the other one done, because now I know what to expect I`m definately going to get it done sometime, obviously when my money situation gets a little better! Maybe getting it done vertically which will look a little different to my other one!

My best advice to anyone who wants their nipple pierced no matter how scared you are about getting done, I say just go get it done! It`s worth it and it looks damn good!

As my motto goes " Get pierced and be happy"
