I've had my nipples pierced before, each time was a different experience with its own story.

I've wanted my nipples repierced for quite sometime, It just took me a while to actually sit down and figure out when a good time would be and who I would want to do it.

I was driving to work a few days ago, thinking about piercing my nipples. I decided I wanted it done that week. I started thinking about which days I had free. Between work, school, spending time with my new boyfriend, and my animals, I have a fairly full life.

"Thursday..." I thought. I get out of school at 3:15, I could be back in vermont by 4:00. I could do it then. But I did not want to wait. It was monday and I was scheduled to work until 7:00. I could be back in town by 8:00 and eventually home by 9-9:30.

I whipped out my trust cell phone and call my friend who happens to be a piercer in training. He also did my nipples before. I told him that I wanted him to repierce them for me. He got kind of annoyed, because of some other reasons and gave me the impression he really did not want to pierce them. But after a few minutes of giving him all kinds of reasons why I wanted them pierced and putting to rest any irrational fears he had, he reluctantly agreed to do them. I asked when he had free time so I could come over, and he was not very particular. So I told him I was able to come by after work and if he could, I wanted them done that night. He agreed.

I spent the rest of the day at work excited. Thinking about a few things. Mainly, what my new boyfriend would think.

I got to my friend's house around 8:15 pm. He does not have his own studio yet, it is supposedly being built at the moment. I sat down on his bed, and we chatted for a bit.

I took off my bra and undid my shirt. He came over and positioned me the way he wanted me, so he would have clear access when the time came. (Huh, that sounds kind of dirty *s*)

Anyways. He whipped out his piercing kit and started putting on his gloves. My last nipple piercing experience with him was a shitty one, actually so was the one before that.

I knew what to expect, I knew how much it would hurt. I always thought with nipple piercings came the most excrusiating pain. I also knew that for some odd reasons my nipples heal really fast and after the first day went by, my nipples would no longer throb.

My friend came over, using a black felt tip pen he eyed my left breast, preparing to mark where he would puncture the skin. As he did so I began to get nervous. He brought out the clamp and re-rubber band it so it would stay on my nipple. Then he grabbed my skin within the clamp and tightened it. It hurt for a minute. I've always been told clamps were the worst part, I always thought they were the best part. The pain of having a clamp on your nipple really does take away from the pain of having a needle shoved through your skin.

He told me to breath in through my mouth and out through my nose, I tried to do so. He positioned the needle against my nipple and told me to calm down. I was getting a little antsy and the anticipation was killing me. I told him to just stick the needle through, I did not want him to tell me when he was going to do it, I did not want any kind of warning.

I felt the needle press lightly against my nipple, and then with pressure applied to it, it went through the skin. It did not go in very easily, I felt resistance.

While I was waiting for my friend to put the hoop in, I started to notice a lot of things that did not seem right to me. The first time I had my nipple pierced, it was by a real professional. He put vaseline or some kind of related substance at the tip of the needle, so it would go in smooth.

Secondly, he was planning on using the same needle for both nipples. Which if I remember correctly, is not very sanitary. I got a little nervous, but I was also to afraid to say anything.

I took about 15 minutes before I was ready to do the second nipple.

My friend began to repeat the procedure on my right nipple. This time the needle went in a lot smoother, as did the hoop. I praised my friend for it. I probably should not have.

When it was over, I was very shaky. I asked how much the bill was and my friend told me $50 dollars. Well I had a problem with that. He missed the black marks he made for guidance, both nipples came out looking very much uneven (people have even asked me about it) and he used the same needle twice.

When I questioned him on the uneven piercings he told me it was my fault because of the way I was sitting. I sat how he wanted me to.

Needless to say, I am not going to that person for piercings again. While I do like my nipple rings, I'm a little embarrassed to show them off because of the obviously unprofessional job that was done.

Well, I have definetly learned my lesson. Actual professionals with years of experience are the only people who will be making any kind of markings on my body.

(my warning: go to a professional. apprentices are not professionals, friends are not professionals, you are not a professional. )
