For the longest time I wanted my nipples pierced, but I'm only 16 so there's no way I could get parental consent. My parents are easy going with other piercings, but nothing below the neck, besides my belly button, which I got done about a really long time ago.

I tried to be as clean as possible, and I regret doing it myself cause they are both a bit crooked, but this story is only about the one that I did myself.. the other I got a friend to do about a month later. Anyways, I got a 16 gauge needle ready (the place I got it from didnt have 14g needles), and I bought gloves previously, cause I do piercings myself on my ears once in awhile. Back to the story.. I was really really nervous. In fact, I was shaking so much. So I decided to take a bath to calm myself down first. It didnt really work. I was still pretty shakey, and nervous. But it helped a bit so thats good. Every 15 minutes or so I'd go to get out and pierce but then I was like 'nah I'll wait another 15..'
About an hour later, I was ready. I put the gloves on, and marked two spots that looked about right. I didn't have clamps, that was the hard part. Then, I changed my gloves again, just to be safe and stuff. Then, I grabbed the needle, and with about 4 big breaths I shoved the needle through. Fuck!! It hurt so so so so bad!! But I guess that's what I get for doing it myself. My nipple felt burning hot, but the pain wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I yelled out YES!!!!! when I got it through hahahaha. Luckily no one was home, cause that would just be really weird. I admired it for a few minutes, not wanting to have to go through with putting the jewellery in yet!
Well, the needle was sitting in me and I thought the worst part was definately over. I took the 16 barbell, and slid it into the end of the needle. I thought it would be a piece of cake to slide the jewellery right in, but fuck, the needle came out, and I had to poke the jewellery around in there trying to make it come out. That hurt like HELL. My nipple was bleeding and I thought I was going to pass out from the pain, plus I'm not good with blood at all. Eventually, I saw a silver bit poke through the end. RELIEF!!!! I pushed it, and then put the bead on. I was crying by then, and then I put some ice on it, and took another bath. It looked really cute. I can't believe I went through that pain! Ahhh It was horrible. The next few days were horrible too, it started to sting everytime it got cold. And when I cleaned it, it would bleed and get all gross. I think it would have been a better idea just to wait till I was 18 but looking at it now I can't part with it!
A week later the pain was gone. I knew that the size (16g) was too small, and I needed to get a 14g in there. I went and got it fixed up at Urge, and they stretched it up to a 14g for me. It hurt, obviously. But worth it. They said I placed it surprisingly well for using no clamps, besides the crookedness. They also said to not pierce myself again!
Anyways, it's doing fine now, 3 or 4 months later. And I love it!! A month after I did the first one, my friend did my other one for me. The pain wasn't nearly as bad, probably because it was over wayyyy quicker then when I did mine. She also had a 14g needle, so the jewellery was 14 too, and I didn't have to go through any stretching up. The one she did is straight too, and she used clamps, which Im thankful for! Anyways, that is my story..
And if you are underage like me and you are thinking about doing your own, please dont! Just wait until you are 18 and you can get it done professionally, its worth it. But if you are somewhat like me and you really really insist on doing it, get clamps, gloves, and a 14g or larger needle. make sure you be clean and safe!! and for the love of everything in the world do NOT use a safety pin. thats gotta be the worst thing to do.
