So I had been thinking about getting my nipple pierced for a very long time, but I never really had the guts to go through with it! The only other piercings I have had done are the typical ear piercings, two on one side and three on the other. My boyfriend got his nipple pierced for me about six months ago and really wanted me to do it. *See I was suppose to get mine done first, seeing as how I lost a bet* But I am chicken! Like I said I gave it a lot of thought and spent a lot of time surfing around reading about other peoples experiences.

I had bugged her many times and told her she should get her nipples pierced as well but she never really seemed into it. Except for today! I mentioned that after lunch I wanted to head over to the piercing place and ask some questions and stuff and she said sure. So again I asked if she wanted to get hers done and to my surprize she said yes!!!! So we finished lunch and headed to the place!
We got there and walked in and were welcomed by a girl who had at least six visable piercings! So we asked all our questions and she showed us the jewelery...She told us the risks of infection and about breastfeeding and such. Calmed my fears a little. So My best friend and I decided we would get it done. We did what we had to do. Picked out our jewelery and bead colors and payed.
The girl took us into a room and I realized I had to go first, because if I watched Katie get hers done I would chicken out!! I asked stupid question trying to figure out just how much pain my girls were gonna go through! But alas I calmed myself and lost my shirt and bra... Nothing more strange then sitting half naked infront of a person you don't know and your best friend! The girl put pen marks on where she planed to jab me! She asked if I was ok with the location... At that point I didn't care and just closed my eyes, didn't bother to look and told her anywhere in the general nipple area would be great!!! So she clamped my nipple and got me to hold it while she got the needle and such. She came back and took the clamp. She told me to take a deap breath and hold it... So I did as she said and when she told me to exhale she jabbed me!!!!!!!!!! I may have jumped and swore once maybe twice! It didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought it was going to, but of course ha ving anything stuck through your body is going to hurt a wee bit! She put the ring in and put the bead in, cleaned it again and told me I was done!
I was still in shock, but I loved it! At last I had the nipple ring I had always wanted! So I waited with my friend while she got hers done. This took about 5 minutes, seems like an hour when it is your own nipple! So after we were both done we decided to get a coffee. No matter what anyone tells you.... It hurts after!!!! We realized just how aware of your nipples you become once you get them pierced. Every bump, nudge, speedbump, etc you feel. And I am not gonna sugar coat this! It does hurt after. Cleaning and moving it for the first time hurts but that is to be expected! It is all relative really! If you want it the pain is worth it!
The greatest part of the day was yet to come! I called my boyfriend at work and told him what I had done. He was very pleased! My parents have no idea, because well they would flip! It is great. All my female friends just shutter when I show them! They look as though they may cry in pain for me! But really like I said, the piercing doesn't hurt. All the bumps and such afterwards are what causes the pain!
All I can say is if you want it, go for it! Just be prepared for some tenderness afterwards! And yes wear a bra! I thought it would be better to go braless. I thought the bra would rub on it and hurt it, but really the bra helps hold it in place so it doesn't bounce around and hurt as bad! I can't wait till it is heeled and I can get a nipple sheild for it! So my advice is have fun, close your eyes, and wear a bra!
