It was your typical Friday night with no real thoughts of getting anything pierced, except for harrassing the piercer at the crappy studio beside the cool store that sells cool jewellry.. I'd be terrified to let that guy touch me.. But thats another story. I was walking around with my (female) friend Sasha, and we ran into my boyfriend (Brad) and his friend (Warren). "We just got back from Artistics! We're cauterizing my labret!" Brad has an actual keloid on his labret. The inside. Not hypertrophic scarring, a keloid. So after quite the contemplating, walking to Artistics, walking back to a bank machine, realizing Warrens card doesn't work, and walking back to Artistics again and getting into arguements over Star Wars (die!) Jeremy called me back. "Whatcha getting tonight?" I mumbled (I am a compulsive mumbler) "Nipple."

Not of the pain. I'm insecure about my boobs. I hate them. So.. I took off my one layer of shirts and watched Jeremy set up. Sasha, Brad and Warren sat down on one side of the room and I noticed the neato leopard skin (fuzzy) roof.. "Ok", Jeremy said as he sat down, "I'm down at boob level." I took that as the time to take off my shirt. I sighed and turned around and pulled off my "Crutches Are Sexy" shirt and pulled my bra beneath my boob.. Insecurity thing. Jeremy poked and prodded and eventually marked, after much giggling throughout Warren and Sasha (which caused me to laugh, "giggles cause jiggles", which we found hilarious and laughed about all night) I sat down in the interesting, comfy chair that leans back.
I stared at the roof, but hell, I hadn't been nervous since I took my shirt off and felt the clamps and heard Sasha go "Oh my god" and I kinda laughed at her.. They're just clamps (I have a friend like that.. He is disgusted by clamps, the way skin looks in them.. It amuses me, clips and clothespins are fun.) Still staring at the roof, I feel Jeremy go pick up the needle and I relaxed and started breathing. "Are you ready?" "Yep."
"Big breath in.. Big relaxing breath out." I don't know if I closed my eyes or not, but I was really relaxed.
"Ok.. Another big breath in.." "Big breath out". And I feel the needle quickly slide through my nipple. Wow. I am in a world of pain at that moment. Good pain. Intense, I use to describe it. I tensed a bit as I felt it exiting and stared at the roof, still. He removes the clamps, which I don't really feel because they weren't tight at all, caused no pain, unlike some other piercings (nape and tongue.. those clamps were uncomftorable as hell!)
"Ok, another deep breath in.. breathe out.." I feel the ring go through, which was uncomfortable for a second, and then I stare at the ceiling and relax as the bead is snapped in, I look, put my shirt on and go "yay!". Jeremy cleans up a bit, I paid him and talk to the guy that I made cry (heh) because I insulted Star Wars.. Then we wandered back to Brads house, when it started to hurt and go down to a hot feeling.
All in all, it was a good experience, and damn, I want to do the other one now. :) It was rather intense and for the first time in a while I got a nice adrenaline rush, because I was nervous for the first time in about two years before getting pierced. My whole boob insecurity. I checked on it later, (its 14 gauge, by the way.. I have small nipples) and it was a bit bloody and flipped up the wrong way. I moved it down and it was fine. Sports bras are extremly comfortable, I can hardly tell its there...
As for aftercare, I plan on soaking it in salt water a couple times a day and washing around it and the ring with soap. Not rotating the ring with soap on it through. Just to get rid of any excess crusties around it. Keeping it away from my pony, who likes to rub, and hit my chest, is a good idea. I'm also a fan of herbs and such, strongly dilluted tea tree products or lavender oil work well.. I've healed many piercings, and I'm not saying follow my aftercare, just that it works on me.
At the current moment I have my inner labia (self done), my left nipple, a fairly healed cleavage surface piercing (surface bar), my tongue, my septum, my labret, and 000ga lobes (each ear), 4ga conches (punched, each ear), 14ga vertical lobes (each ear), 14ga high conches (each ear), a 6ga cartilage punch in my right ear and a 14ga orbital in my cartilage in my left ear.
