My Metal Nipples

Let me start at the beginning, I've always found that's the best place to start. The only experience I'd had before this was a gun in the left lobe while I was on a trip to Australia. Although it didn't hurt too much, and I didn't have many problems, I do notice that when stretching (not big, only to twelve gauge) it is harder than stretching my other piercing, which is just above the first. I like the first because it signifies my trip. Anyways, the second one, as I said, is above the first, which I did myself...with a good old sewing needle, took a good 15 minutes or so. I wanted something new, and I wasn't quite sure what.

My decision process was not that hard. I knew I didn't care for facial piercings too much, I couldn't see myself with any, and I didn't want any problems getting a job, or having to take one out or whatnot. I actually found BME while looking for car supplies, imagine that, but I'd looked around and read many experiences and decided on nipple piercings. I wanted both done, since if I'm going to do it, I may as well do it right. Now all that I needed was money, and a place to go.

I looked all around the Rochester area, called a few places, and finally decided on the Village Gate. I met with some of the piercers, got some prices, checked it out, made sure I felt comfortable, the whole deal. I told them I'll be back as soon as I got money. Between the time I visited and I went to get them pierced, I had my birthday, got a few thousand dollars, and put 100 dollars to me, most of which to be spent on my nipples.

To tell you the truth, the whole day leading up to my piercings SUCKED. Everything that could go wrong, did! My best friend (who was supposed to go w/ me to get them done) hit his head and cut it open and got a level 2 concussion. NOT FUN! I had a whole bunch of other mishaps as well. But he said to me, before I left, "You better not wimp out buddy, I don't want to be the only one in pain today." You see...I was partially responsible for his accident. Anyways, to continue, I got in my car and drove down the the Village Gate. I walked in and announced to the 2 or 3 people that were around that "I want some metal through both of my nipples."

That was when I met Robert. He was a great guy. He took me back, took a look at my nipples, said he could do it, but there was a catch. He had never pierced a nipple before. He was apprenticing under Jason, but just hasn't put the needle through a nipple yet. I took some time to look at Jewelry and contemplate what I wanted to do. I decided to go for it, and screw all the omens I'd gotten that day.

Robert was great. He kept me very comfortable, talked me through everything, we took our time, since we were both nervous. It ended up taking about 45 minutes to do it all, mainly because we bonded most of the time. Talking about music and whatnot. The pain wasn't bad at all, at least while I was being pierced. He gave me a care sheet and some candy and told me what else to expect. I drove home with EXTREME caution not to rub my extremely swollen nipples, and made it just fine. I couldn't help but to constantly look at them. They bled a little bit, but I could deal. They were extremely sore for the next 3 hours, but after that the only pain was when someone hit them.

I ended up having to abonden these piercings. I loved them wholely and completely, but it didn't go well at all with sports. I'm a swimmer, and everything I tried would not work, either tape would come off or it would just hurt, and I couldn't deal. I almost cried when I took them out, but the experience stayed with me. I'll get them pierced again when my swimming career is over. It'll be worth the wait. I do plan, however, to get my right ear done (hopefully by Robert) and my tongue after this season is over (damn NY High school sports don't let you wear jewelry...).

note: After I talked to Robert a week later when I still had them in, he told me how he had pierced a LOT of nipples since he pierced mine, when he told his boss how well it went with me. I plan on going there for all my piercing now.
