My nipple piercing experience |
| ||||||||||||||||
This past summer I actually thought about getting my nipples pierced. I was in the piercing place had the jewelry picked out and was about ready to do it when I chickened out. I looked at the pictures of people they had pierced at this studio and was repulsed by the way they looked. Needless to say I left and had a very bad taste in my mouth about nipple piercing. Then about 3 weeks ago I had told my male friend that I actually almost got it done and he asked my why I didn't do it, and of course I told him the whole story. He pointed out a good point to me. When I told him that I thought the pictures were repulsive he said, you know what.. Everyone looks different. He asked me if I liked my breasts and of course I do, and then he said well if you like them.. think of nipple piercing as an enhancement to something you already love. I had to agree with him there. So after about a week of thinking it over, I decided to give the whole nipple piercing thing another try.I started out by looking through all the experiences and pictures here at BME and read all the care instructions and what other people had said to expect and decided I would go for it. At first I was worried about not being able to breast-feed later in life, but after a lot of research my findings were that you should not have a problem. As long as you take care of them as specified by the piercer you should be able to do anything you want. I had gotten my belly button pierced about a year and a half ago and decided that I would go to the same person who did it. I got there and I was shaking I was so nerous. I talked to the girl and she took my ID etc etc. I went into the room where I proceeded to take off my shirt. She told me all the sterilization stuff (make sure whoever pierces you uses a needle fresh out of the sterilization bag they have regulations to follow.) We picked out the ring size that we were going to use. (she actually wanted to use a bigger one but I didn't want to..) Make sure that you like what you are getting because you won't be able to change the jewelry for about 7 months. She said that I could change the ball on the ring after about 6 weeks. The girl who pierced me marked my my nipples with a marker to see where the needle would go through and make sure that the curve of the ring would match the curve of my breast. This was painless, of course. She then put the clamp on, which hurt a little, and told me to breath in and then out, WOOW then the needle went through. It hurt, but not as much as I thought it was going to a sting and then a burning sensation, she then put the ring in which was nothing compared to the needle going through. She proceeded to do the next one and of course this one hurt more, since the 2nd always hurts more than the first, again put the ring in.
It has been a week and a half since I got them done and they are healing quite nicely. The day of they were pretty sore but about 3 days later they were alright. I can't flip the ring up or pull it up yet, but I am sure that will happen in due time. I sleep in a bra still since my breasts are somewhat large and it would probably aggravate the rings if I rolled over on them all the time. They itch a little, but only because they are healing. I am following the care instructions very strictly by cleaning then 2 times a day with dial anti-bacterial soap and putting the piercing solution stuff that she gave me on them. The first time I had to wash them in the shower I thought that I was going to pass out, it hurt so much just because my nipples were already sore, but the 2nd day I was fine. My nipples look better day to day. They are a little dry right now since it is winter and I can't really put lotion on them yet. THey do recommend taking a vitamin supplement which I am doing, Flinstones Vitamins :) Definitely follow all instruction, or else you could get infected and the nipple and the breast is not a good place to get an infection.
I would tell anyone who was considering getting their nipples pierced to go for it. It doesn't hurt that much and the actual piercing part is done in about 2 minutes. Two minutes of pain is well worth the outcome! They look spectacular, I couldn't have asked for anything better. She was the best piercer and very gentle!
