Well, I was at the ripe age of 15 when for some unexplained reason I felt that I just needed to have a piercing.... it could'nt be a facial one or anything too noticeable as I still attended school. So I choose my nipple.

Almost a week after deciding to get it done I left at the end of school and caught a bus into town. I got off the bus, and it was a very scary walk to the shop where I was to get my first and not last piercing. As I entered and saw the tattoos on the walls and photos etc I began to have second thoughts. But I kept on going. I asked Ken/Jason ( the guy in the shop )if I could have my nipple pierced, as I hadn't made a booking. He told me he'd be ready in about 5 min or so. Sweet as I thought and sat in the comfy chair adjacent to the part of the shop where everything happens. Ken/Jason soon gave me a called me. By now I was extremely nervous.

I took off my shirt and he marked my nipple with a pen and got me to sit in a large leather chair which reminded me of a dentist's one. Ken/Jason then tilted the chair backwards so as I was lying on my back. Now I did something rather stupid, I looked over to all the instruments on the table next to me and pretty much freaked out. He did some stuff, I can't recall, then eventually put my nipple in a clamp type thing which was a strange experience in itself. He then took a large skewer, and I knew just where it was going!! But he stopped.... what could be wrong I pondered. With a smile he said to me, " jezzz man, remember to breathe! I don't want you to pass out on me!" Okay... breathe, doesn't sound too hard, then I saw the needle! Ahhhh!

I looked up at the ceiling and the piercer guy, Ken/Jason, then pierced my nipple. I felt the skewer just going through a little bit of my nipple. It wasn't all the way through. It hurt a bit. "There we go, thats as much as it's gonna hurt, " I was told. Eh? I looked at my nipple nad saw the long piercing thing going right through my nipple! Wow, that was a breeze! I couldn't believe that was all... just a short dull pain and it was all over! I then watched as he put the ring, attached the ball and withdrew the big long skewer thingy. I then stood up, shakily, and looked at myself in the mirror. Awesome! It looked way cooler than I had imagined. After being bandaged up and given instructions on how to care for it I was told it was now time for the 'painful part'. Huh? What more could there possibly be? I was worried, until I figured out he meant for me to pay him.

I walked out the door a changed man... well boy really! On the bus trip home I was suddenly overcome. I found it hard to breathe and and I could feel a kind of dull pain in my nipple. Not too bad though.

Later on I removed the bandage and had a look at it. There was a bit of blood, and my whole pectoral ( breast ) was rather sore.

For the next few days I felt a very strange feeling. Whenever I bent down, to say tie my shoes up, I could feel the ring in my nipple tilt forward due to gravity. It was an odd expierence, caused, I think, by the nerve endings which were still present. It passed away eventually.

My nipple took about 9 months or so to heal. During that period it wasn't particularily sore, only if I knocked it. Now I can play with it without feeling anything, which is fun because I can freak out some of my friends by pulling it so that my nipple stretches... not too much though. Or take out the ring and put it back in so they can see the ring pass through the other side of the nipple. Hehehe!

Now 2 years later I am 17 years old and presently have my navel pierced and a celtic/maori ( Maori being the native culture here in NZ) tattoo on my stomach. The great thing is that my parents know about none of these. If they did I mostly probably would be hung, drawn and quartered. Getting my navel done was soooo much more easier than my navel, maybe because I knew what to expect. My tattoo really hurt, but I think that is becasue of it's placement. I am considering getting my other nipple pierced, but have to save up enough money. Then in a couple of months when I turn 18 I will get my tounge pierced.

I really like my 2 piercings and tattoo. As you would know ( if you have either of the two ) they just make you feel, in a way, unique.

I have also found that getting these done has given me more confidence to do other things in life.

:) FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY! :)
