And I thought it was going to be fine. A dull ache for about 2 seconds and then over and done with. Well I sure got that wrong.

I've loved piercings forever. I turned 16 yesterday and throughout my 16 years I have acquired 28 piercings! First ones at 7 years, last ones yesterday. I have 21 in my ears (I don't wear jewellery in 8 out of my 11 lobe piercings though) 2 in my nose, 1 in my lip, 1 in my tongue and now 3 in my navel.

I've wanted these babies for a while now, and luckily for where I live I can get anything pierced without consent from 16years and forward.(apart from genitals and sometimes nipples) I already had one in my belly, being a standard piercing at the bottom, but I wanted more. I now have one either side of that piercing and soon I shall have a standard navel piercing at the top. Which I'm not looking forward to.

I know the piercing shop and piercers very well now as I've been friends with them for about 2 years and go in about 3 times a week. They're really cool, funny and rude as hell! (Well to me anyway, but I still love them) I arranged with them to get it done a few months ago and they ordered 2 12m blackline curved barbells for this day.

I woke up with my boyfriend running his fingers down my back singing happy birthday to me! Mummy made me breakfast and I opened all my presents. As soon as I was ready, Tom, Mike and I set off to Worthing town. When we got there, I was very nervous, Quentin told me that I'd have to wait about 20mins whilst they re-sterilised the jewellery, I almost backed out, but then I thought, hey it won't be that bad, I've had loads of bits pierced, I'll be fine. We read magazines and talked for ages about random things.

When the jewellery was sterilised completely, Quentin led me to the room at the back and marked me up. I didn't need I.D as they know when my birthday is and if I was going to lie, I would have made my 16th birthday come about four years earlier! I asked him to place them as diagonal as possible. He took time to measure and mark and when he was done I was pleased with where he had placed them. I was then instructed to lay down. Linton thought he'd watch to see my reaction. (He's the crazy receptionist, but is fucking awesome)

He clamped me, which I thought was rather uncomfortable and then gently pressed the needle on my skin, he talked the whole way through and then said "Right Amie, we're guna' go for the piercing...Now" Oh my god. It was unbearable. It hurt SO much. I take piercing pain really well, so I didn't move or flinch but wow, good god did it cane. I was in disbelief!

O.K, done. Shit. I now have to go through the other one. Great. He got a new needle and attempted the clamping but had trouble, he re-thought, "No" he says, "I'll do it freehand" WHAT???? Are you joking? Oh dear. Oh god. Oh no. I was SO scared. Once lined up he repeats "We're guna' go for the piercing.... Now" Again I state the pain was awful. I never expected for it to hurt THAT much and it seemed like it went on forever. I asked why he freehanded it, he said it would have been more uncomfortable due to the fact I had other piercings there and a fresh one.

I felt faint and went pale. Not what I usually feel like after a piercing. I had to have a sugary drink to calm me and laid down for ages. After I finally got up, I stumbled out the room and sat on a chair in the front of the shop.

It hurt like hell, but I'm glad I did it. I wouldn't do it again though. I paid a cheap price(as I'm always buying stuff from there and they know it's my birthday) and gave Quentin a MASSIVE hug, he gave me the aftercare and I sat and spoke to them for a bit. I thanked them and set off home with a funny looking plaster over my tummy. It looked a mess when I took the bandage off, not loads of blood, but enough to make you pull a disgusted face at the sight of it. It's healing ok so far, I've knocked it a few times though... Ow. Mother thought it was horrid!

Next piercing on the list is nape. Then venoms, then nipple and so on and so forth. Have fun piercing etc...
