I wasn't supposed to pierce my belly button yet.I had told myself that I would lose 10 pounds then I would pierce my belly button as a reward. But,I disobeyed myself and I pierced it a few days ago.

Being St. Patrick's Day I wasn't completely sober so I would like to say I do not recommend piercing while intoxicated.I did it myself which I also do not recommend but I also did all of my other 14 piercings by myself. So I have at least a little bit of experience.

I had been wanting a navel ring for a long time but I kept telling my self that I couldn't have one until I lost some weight. But I was impatient and I couldn't wait any longer.I had already pierced both of my eyebrows twice, both of my nostrils,my labret, tongue, twice on each ear lobe & the top of both of my ears.I plan on doing more later but I want to wait until my navel heals all the way now.

I tried to pierce my belly button when I was about 14 but I failed miserably because I didn't know anything about piercing then.I didn't pierce enough skin so It was easily ripped out (ouch) a few weeks later.I tried again when I was 16 but I couldn't get it to go all the way through. Finally this time It worked.

I bought a 14g piercing needle offline a while ago so I wouldn't have to pierce with safety pins anymore. But,I lost my piercing needle.Since it was a spur of the moment kind of thing I wasn't even thinking about waiting to get another hollow needle. So I used a safety pin.Stupid me.

I sterilized the safety pin, washed my hands and prepped the area with beta dine to kill germs.I turned heavy metal on full blast to try and calm me some.I started to pierce my belly button coming from the top.It went in fine at first. The it started getting harder to push through. The safety pin I used was really dull so It took a while.I pushed it until it wasn't moving anymore then I rested for a few minutes.

I started back on it and I finally got it to the very last part. The oh so painful last layer coming through.I knew from experience that I would have to push the needle through while at the same time pushing the skin around where the needle would exit.I finally finished it all.It didn't bleed at all.I closed the safety pin and put a piece of tape over it so it wouldn't get snagged on clothing.Tacky,I know.

That was a few days ago.I kept the safety pin in for a few days because I was afraid that if I took it out to put jewelry in the hole would close up.

So,on to finishing it up...Last night I decided to put the belly button ring in.So I washed my hands and sterilized the jewelry.I had a normal banana barbell belly ring with 2 silver 6 mm balls.I also had a backup longer straight barbell just in case the other was too short. So I took out the safety pin and started to insert the ring.Since the safety pin was straight and the barbell was curved I had a little difficulty fitting it in place right.By the time I made it to the last layer the end hole was already closed.I thought that it was because the ring was too short so I quickly took the the banana barbell out and I put the straight barbell in.It went through with some struggle until that last part. Then I realized that the hole was closed.I didn't want to take it out to re pierce a exit hole because I was afraid that it would close up again. So I just kept on trying to push the barbell through.I had to stop and rest a few times. It hurt so bad at one point that I thought I was going to pass out.I got light headed and I was really hot.I couldn't breathe well.I kept the barbell where it was and I got me some fresh air.

I went the finish it and i got it through to where the barbell was almost poking through the last layer.I poked with the safety pin where the barbell was trying to exit but it still didn't work.I used a razor blade to try and make it easier for the ring to come through.I guess something worked because it finally poked through a little.Bit just a little.Just enough that you could see the silver of the ring.I pushed a little more to where I had about 2 of the threads on the barbell out of the hole.I rested then tried some more.It just wasn't moving. So I screwed the ball on what was sticking out of the hole and I waited.I got me some water and I had a cigarette.I waited about 30 minutes then I took the ball off. There was a little bit of dried stuff so I picked it off. Then the barbell finished going through with out any trouble.I screwed the ball on and it was done.It bled this time so I had to clean it up.It was red, sore, and bruised from all of the force trying to get the barbell through.

It hasn't been long enough to tell yet but so far its doing alright. It gets scabbies a lot and some pus every now and then but besides that its OK.I'm going to wait a few more days before I put in a ring that fits. The one I have in now is too long so It is kind of aggravating at times. Now all I have to do is wait and see how it heals.Hopefully everything will be fine and I won't have to take it out.

If you want a piercing I advise you go to a pro and get it done right.Piercing yourself is stupid. But I still continue to do it.Be Safe.
