Well, it's taken 3 tries, but hopefully this is the last!

The first time I went, was 3 years ago. I went to a professional place that I thought looked pretty clean and decent, and was pretty excited! I drove myself, and I had bought an emla patch (it numbs your skin), put it on my skin, and I was all set. So they called me in, pierced me, and I left very happy, with a surgical steel 14CBR. Unfortunately, my body had other plans and decided it hated having something foreign in it. Over the time of about 3 months, my body had completely rejected the piercing, and it just fell out of the skin which had broken (and paper thin). I was so disappointed!!! I had cleaned it every day, babied it, and had nothing to show for all that hard work.
I went back after a few months, and they did it again, free this time, which was nice. But again, my body would have nothing to do with the CBR, and I tried replacing it with titanium, and a barbell, but nothing worked. I lost it yet again.
So a year and a half later, after getting a successful nose piercing, which I love, I was still itching for the belly ring. I decided to call up a studio and ask them what they thought I should do and they had given me a lot of options, and telling me about a new thing called bio plast. Apparently, it is flexible, and moves with your body, and has been giving people with rejections the piercing they wanted. So, I made an appointment the next day, bought my emla patch (against my piercers instructions, but I was a wimp). I got there, and he could tell right away I had used the patch, and wouldn't pierce me, saying it was NOT a good idea. So we rescheduled for today.
I went back today, finally, and had it done. I'm telling you, without the freezing, it hurts like hell, but he also had 2 layers of scar tissue skin to work though, which makes it more painful.
So he cleaned me with iodine, and marked the placement as I had done the two times before. I was then told to lie in a chair that he moved so I was laying flat. He showed me the needle in the sterilized bag, new. He put the clamp on (which hurt quite a bit), told me to take a deep breath in, and pierced me as I let the breath out. It wasn't that bad! It felt kind of warm and pinchy, but nothing I couldn't handle. Then, came the worst part... the jewelry insertion. Because my skin was so tough, the barbell was so flexible, and my stomach was so tiny, it was really hard for him to get the jewelry through. I felt like I was going to pass out, but finally it was over and all he had to do was put the balls on. This took him a long time since they wouldn't go on right for some reason, but it gave me time to recover, and it didn't hurt, so I didn't mind. He also said the pervious piercer can pierced me too shallow and that can be the cause of rejection as well.
After about 15 minutes of trying, he finally discovered he had picked a bad ball, and got another one on right away. Then I was off to pay my 40 bucks, plus extra for cleaning stuff.. H20 Ocean.. I haven't tried it yet.
It looks so cute and I am very happy with it. I had no pain afterward, just a little if I move or stretch too far the wrong way. I really recommend this place. These people know what they are talking about, and were very professional and clean. Please don't let my story scare you, as I have a very low threshold for pain, and scar tissue is much harder to work with. Usually it takes them a lot shorter of time to do this. I love it, and hope it lasts.
I hope you guys enjoyed my story, and if you like belly piercings, go for it. But, keep in mind, rejections can happen, even in the best of circumstances, and some people are just harder to pierce! I would definitely do it all over again to have it, it's my favorite one. I am told I can change it after 6 months if I want, I should give it lots of time to heal so it won't reject again. I guess if you really want something this bad, it can be hard but worth to get in the end.
Happy piercing everybody!
