Ok You now how it is, your 16, your Dad has said you can do want you want with your body and you need something to show for it. Well I did just that.

May 2004 at this point I only had standard piercing, Top Navel, 2 in each ear lobe, top cartilage but I wanted something new and different and there was nothing to stop me.
It was decided I was going to get a piercing that no one else had but what? I started looking around for new ideas. This was easer said than done, ever idea I had some one I knew had it. But that's when it hit me why look for new places when I could just go for a multi piercing I didn't now any one with that. Decided that a double navel sounded like an amazing idea but at the time I hadn't seen it so I wasn't sure I could get it done. I started to research and as it turned out hundreds of people had it.

After days of looking I fell in love with the idea of having a 2nd belly bar. I had an agreement with my dad that I would tell him the ideas of my next piercing with him just to make him feel like he was still in control or a proper parent. When I told him he said it sounded weird but wasn't going to stop me.
So that was it. I didn't tell my boy friend because I knew he wouldn't be too keen on the idea so I asked one of my best mated to come to the shop with me.
I went to my local piercing place Tat2-u I had been there before and I liked the smell and they where very clean and professional and also friendly. James was the guy who dealt with the piercing so I went to see him to ask if it was possible to get it done. He said it would be fine and he sounded quite interested in the idea of doing a not so normal piercing. I said I would be back with my £35 and backup.

As I came back to the shop I wasn't feeling that nervous, I guess it was because I had, had I knew it didn't hurt that much I was more excited that I was going to have a new piercing. It must have been about 3pm when I got back to the shop and it wasn't busy at all. James handed me the paper work and told me to fill it in while he got everything set up. I sat on the huge purple sofas and waited with my friend. James came back round the front and said everything was ready. He had his black gloves ready and told me to sit in the chair, this was a bit tricky because just like last time he wanted me to sit right forward and lay back so my stomach angled up and towards him and put my legs round his chair, this sounds easy but my legs are a bit longer than usual not to mention the boots I was wearing at the time. After a while of moving about I found a comfortable spot and sat back.

James asked me to hold me top up above my stomach so he could mark it up. It took a bit longer than last time because he had another bar to consider while finding the right place to pierce. He asked if it looked ok, it was a little bit to the left on the top point but it made sense or I couldn't fit both bars in with out them rubbing against each other. I smiled and said it was fine. James isn't a fan of numbing the area of a piercing it didn't bother me that much because what's the point in getting a piercing if you don't want to deal with the "pain"?
Anyway, he cleaned my belly button and he said that I could keep in the top one if I wanted.
He clamped it up and pulled the fresh needle out of its packet. He told me to take a breath in and out, as I breathed out he pushed the needle through, I have to admit it hurt more than my top navel but at most it was a big pinch followed by a slight burning pain, the good thing is it's all over in a few seconds.

I looked down to admire my new piercing, at first it looked a bit odd, I had one belly bar that was longer than the other and the balls where different sizes. I looked at James and asked if it was possible to get the same bar to put in the top hole. He said it would be fine and got one out of a shelf and put it in a bag I changed it over because I didn't really want to shoe people my new piercing when it looked wrong. As soon as I got it in it looked perfect, it was so different, it was me. James had to put a patch over it until I got home. It covered both piercing
But I wasn't that bothered. I walked back to the front of the shop where my friend just shock her head in shock, she didn't understand how I could just walk in and walk out with a smile on face when she nearly passed out when she got her belly button pierced. I love the rush I guess. I paid my money to James and said I would be back with new ideas soon, he laughed. As I walked out the shop I called my boyfriend to tell him the news. "guess what I just got done?" I asked in excitement, he wasn't surprised when I told him he mum was though, she hated piercings. The next day I showed my friends and it was a mixed response most loved it and some where shocked while other just cringed and asked why do I like sticking needles through my skin.

Its addictive what can I say? So anyone that wants to go for a multi piercing id say go for it because I love it and it's a great way of being that little bit different 9 months (I know the title thing says 6months but 9 wasn't an option) on and I still love it. Its also a great convocation starter! Now all I need to do is think what to get next!
