When It just happened

I've wanted to get a Madonna since the first time I saw it on an episode of Road Rules. I don't remember her name or her season but I loved it. That was a few years ago and I just kind of stored it back of my memory. When I turned 18 I knew the piercing wave could begin. I first had my eyebrow done; everything went great so I knew I would want more. I saw someone with the Madonna done and it stirred up the old feelings that I once got for it. I knew I had to have it done.

I talked to my mom about it because I wanted to see what she would think and of course she hated the idea of it. She said she thought it would look like I had a zit. Even with all that I still decided to have it done. I scheduled an appointment to go to my local piercing studio and I was all ready for it. Then I got a call that my grandpa was in the hospital and they were about to pull the plug. Well, that definitely put a halt on things and I had to wait for a while to get a chance to go again. Well about a month later, on a whim, I decided to go and get it done. Me and a friend went and she wanted to get her tongue pierced but wasn't 18 yet. I felt bad but as soon as we got there I forgot all about that. So Saturday night we made our way down there, the place was packed. But I was definitely too excited to leave, it was now or never. So I signed the release, paid the money and picked out my jewelry. 16g clear jewel labret stud. I was ready, but then they waiting came. I ke pt thinking about it more and more, I was getting more and more nervous but excited and the same time. It was finally my turn; He introduced himself and made small talk for a minute. He then swiped some iodine on my lip and on the inside gum. Then marked it and showed it to me to see if I liked and it was perfect. I was very nervous about the pain but id heard the pain described as being like having a zit on your lip, which hurts but definitely not THAT bad. He asked me to lay down on the table and he said the clamps were the worst part, I believed him cause that's what was the worst with my eyebrow. Boy was he wrong... He told me to take a deep breath and he would stick me on my out breath. Well he didn't, and I was expecting it. I breathed in deep again and he finally did it. I squealed and jumped a little, my knuckles were white holding on to the table so hard. I could feel the eyes all watching me from the other people in the studio and I felt like such a baby, but dammit it hurt! The pain went away after a minute and then he put the jewelr y in and I definitely felt that, then he had to clamp on the back of the jewelry and that definitely hurt the worst. He wiped up the blood with a Q tip, but there wasn't that much so it was ok. I sat up right away because I was very uncomfortable. He gave me a mirror to look at it in and I was soo excited!! It looked great and suited my face perfect!! I looked over at my friend and she gushed about how good it looked. The pain was gone and it was just a weird feeling on a new piece of metal going through my face. I gave him a tip, he gave me the booklet about after care and I was off. My hands were completely shaking and I had to have a cigarette to calm my nerves, which by the way I asked about that and he said it would be fine.

Well its 2 days later, it hasn't hurt since and it just feels like there's a small piece of food in my gums or something. I'm hoping this healing process goes as smoothly as my eyebrow did. So far I have gotten very mixed reactions to it and am excited to be able to change the jewelry. I just want a small stud in it but unfortunately I could not get it pierced with that. I'm also very excited to go back and get some more things pierced. Next I'm thinking of an Industrial and a tragus and possibly and anti tragus. I highly recommend this piercing and its nice because its not very common.
