Well my story starts off a year ago when I started looking at pictures on BME. Instantly I fell in love with the lip piercings. So at once I went to ask my Mom if I could get it done. Of course, no was the answer. But I kept asking and she decided to have me ask my Dad to see what he said. He told me he would have to think about it and I would have to wait a few months for the answer. When that time came, no was still the answer. Now let's skip forward a few more months to November. By then my Mom decided she didn't care so I only had to convince my Dad who is really conservative with piercings. So I asked my Mom if I could get my lip pierced for Winter Break and she said that was fine and talked my Dad into it. I was so excited.

They gave us a paper we had to get notarized and we were on our way.
Finally it was the day for the piercing. My friend Wendy and my boyfriend Jason were coming along to check it out because they had never seen a piercing being preformed before and wanted to shop with me afterwards. When we finished eating lunch and getting the paper notarized we went to Mystic Marks.
As we entered there were only a couple piercers there and no one waiting to get anything done. I guess they aren't too busy on Friday mornings. So I told the guy what I wanted and he kept asking my Mom and I over and over if we were sure I wanted my lip pierced because I'm only 15. After we assured him that we did indeed want it he asked me what jewelry I wanted and told me to wait a few minutes while he got everything set up. After he had everything ready he called me back. He said my Mom and friends could come with me because there was a lot of room back there. Then he had me keep mouthwash in my mouth for 1 minute to kill all the bacteria in my mouth. That was pretty hard to do because I wasn't use to having it and it burns your tongue. While I was waiting the he told me about aftercare and what he was going to do. After that I sat down and showed him where I wanted to be pierced. Then he cleaned off the area and got a toothpick in a little ink and put a dot on the spot. Then I looked in the mirror and he put the open cbr in it to see how it would fit and we decided to move the spot up a little more.
I laid down and he told me to breathe in from my nose and out through my mouth. Then he dried off the inside of my lip and marked the spot where the needle would go in and put the clamp on. That didn't hurt at all. I started to breathe like he said and he told me he was going to pierce me and that he uses some pain relieving crème to pierce with. Then I felt the needle go in. It didn't hurt very much, I could just feel it. It took him a couple seconds to push it through. After that I guess he put a cork or something on the end of the needle (I couldn't see) and went to get the jewelry. When he put it in I couldn't feel it at all, I guess the crème he used works pretty well. Then he cleaned off my chin so it wasn't yellow and got his camera to take pictures. After he took some of my lip and my friends and me he gave me a disk of the pictures and the information about the aftercare. He told me about a cleaner I need to get that kills bacteria called "Gly-Oxide" and that it wa s really necessary for me to use it. So after all that was done and paid for I went on my way. After a couple hours shopping we went to the store to get some of the Gly-Oxide and couldn't find it with the normal medical supplies and had to ask the pharmacy and get it from them.
Now it's been a few days later and I'm really happy with the results. I've been taking care of it how the aftercare instructions said. The only time it really hurt was when I woke up the day afterward and accidentally hit my mouth. That didn't feel too good at all. My piercer Corey was really cool and I would recommend him for anyone in the area to go to.
