When Three months ago
Artist Shannon

Well I guess it was about three months ago I decided to finally get my side lip rings redone. The first time they were done I became very unhappy with the placement after about two months so I retired them. Ever since then I have always wanted them redone but this time with proper placement. So at about 7:30pm on a the Friday before Halloween of 2001 I decided to head down to Body Graphics to get the piercing done. When I walked in I was introduced to Shannon who was the girl who was going to be doing the piercing. She seemed very outgoing and friendly which is a big plus when you are about to allow this person to poke holes in your face. She defiantly had a very comforting attitude, it is always unnerving and rather uncomfortable when you walk in those shops that have those holier than thou piercers that just make you feel very uneasy.

After the introduction we walked back to her room and sat down while she discussed the jewelry. She asked if I wanted to use normal labret jewelry or if I wanted to use a captive bead ring, I decided on using the CBRs since that was the vision I had in my head. We then discussed sizes and placement, I must say she was one of the most precise piercers I have ever had work on me, and no that is not a bad thing. She really took a lot of time in working out the perfect placement on both sides. She did the marks while I was sitting down but then allowed me to get up so she could look at them from every angle so we would know that they were in just the perfect spot. The placement actually became a little difficult due to the fact that my labret is slightly off center but she said we would do our best to try to work with that, and I must say she did a great job. It was good to see her take that much time and put in that much effort.

After that I sat down and she did all the cleaning of the area and made sure that I was well aware of where all the tools and jewelry came from in order to ease my mind about cleanliness and proper piercing manners so to speak. I then rested back and she told me she was going to do the left side first and did the routine speech about how I should take three deep breaths and on the third breath she would push the needle through and then place the jewelry. Then with that is was one in and out two in and out and then three in and out and as usual I didn't really feel a thing and was almost unaware that anything had happened then she fixed the 14g ring in the new hole and made sure I was ok. I told her I was fine and we proceeded to do the right side. Same steps same feeling same result. Absolute beauty! I thanked her and she then told me all about cleaning and care handed me her card and a cleaning and care card, and I handed her a good tip for a job that I was very very plea sed with.

The whole ride home I couldn't stop looking in my visor mirror I was so happy with the new additions and the placement was so perfect. My lip defiantly swelled up a bit due to the two of them being done together but it was nothing that was not bearable. I came home and my step mom was a little shocked but she said it looked amazing. My father wasn't too thrilled but said it was my mouth do what I please. So with that I spent the next few days in love with mirrors because I just loved how they looked.

After about five days I started to come down with a minor cold but I was very congested and was starting to cough quite a bit, I took my vitamins and tried to get rest and take care of myself but I was getting quite a bit worse. So one night I fell asleep and was having a rather restless sleep since I was up coughing so much and every time I would cough it was like reopening cuts on my mouth and my lip rings would bleed and just become so terribly sore. After about three nights of this I decided it was in my best judgment to remove them. I knew that with me being so ill it would have slowed down the healing process as well as agitate them to no end. So I removed them once again. I hope one day to finally get them done for good, they really complete the vision I have in my head of how I want my body as far as my face to look, so hopefully soon I will get them redone for the third and final time. Hey third times the charm right?
