The story of the middle of my bottom lip inverted labret-...-

Also my friend once did my cartilage during lunch at school once with an earring long before. That was fun, fun. So before my lip I had my eyebrow done. Same place, same chick. That one healed very quickly but also grew out within around 6 months or so. Not so bad, pretty big scar though.
Then almost a year after I got the eyebrow done... again 6 months after it grew out (that would mean that the eyebrow came out before the lip came in) I had all this birthday money and decided one night to get my lip done (yes I know, I'm a bum, I can't afford piercings unless people have randomly handed me large sums of money previously). So I came in one night with my boyfriend and asked for my lip. We had to wait a bit but I got the same chick. Sylvia. That was pretty cool because I already trusted her because of how well she did my eyebrow. This time it was fairly quicker.
So I sat down and it's a very clean doctor's office type area, anyway so I sat down and she got all her shtuff out. The needle was large, I was scared. But I thought "damn the man" so I held my boyfriend's hand. She had me take a deep breath and let it out... and oh dear lord, I did one of those dramatic gasps that they do on those lame horror movies on TV when they see a ghost. But the pain sort of knocked the wind out of me... and I got my rush of adrenaline and all that good stuff too. The needle was a 14 gauge. My eyebrow I believe started at an 18. That's a pretty noticeable difference in thickness of the needles. So I must say, it hurt like a bitsh.
Overall it was a 5 second INCREDIBLE (incredible as in it hurt VERY much but incredible as in I liked it too, so I'm a sadomasochist, so shoot me) pain kind of moment. But then I was very much happy, and very much excited so I let it go. The pain though WAS very intense. It was sore for a few days after that. And I don't think it helped too much that I smoked just about an hour after I got pierced and had made out with my bf that whole week as it was healing. I can honestly say it didn't help at all. My lip's been crusting a lot too, but I seem to always be playing with it and picking it a lot too. Well I got it pierced 2 weeks ago and my boyfriend went on vacation for four days so I've been getting nooo lip action so it's stopped crusting like a firkin mofo at this point and I'm forcing myself to stop picking at it. I want it to heal completely faster. And I've been rinsing with Listerine after smoking and eating and everything.
So it's an inverted labret. I believe the only difference between that and a regular lip is that the regular lip, from the inside the hole is actually exactly across from where it is on the outside so it's a little lower than your lip (from the inside remember). And the inverted labret goes from the bottom of your lip on the outside diagonally upward towards where your two lips meet. So I guess instead of part of it being inside your lip in your mouth... it's right on top of your lip so when you close your lips, your lips close very easily and the ring is kind of outside of your closed lips. It looks really good though. OH BY THE WAY! I'm not sure if that's the difference between the inverted labret and regular lip piercing, just by seeing pictures of the so-called two, that's my assumption.
I never had trouble talking. On the first day, smiling a little hurt but I really didn't want to laugh, that hurt noticeably a lot. Eating was fairly easy except for the whopper I had a few hours later because those things are big and biting into something that large pressed down onto my piercing. I recommend not eating such large foods... or at least cutting them if you're going to do so. But this was all the first day, the second day laughing was fine, smiling was as before, and eating a whopper was fun. I don't believe I had a whopper the second day but I'm sure if I did, it'd be fun.
Well pain and healing comparison between eyebrow and lip? Eyebrow hurt much less. The initial pain and the long run pain. Them healing and everything I believe is the same even though my lip is still healing. I loved my eyebrow, I love my lip. (I'll admit, I actually screamed when I got my eyebrow, but that was my first 'major' piercing and I didn't know what to expect from the pain so I just kinda wailed a tad bit, but honestly it didn't hurt much at all.) I know I made the pain sound bad for the lip, oh and it was, but nothing to make me cry or anything. Just bad compared to lets say... a paper cut. And nothing compared to lets say... a chick's first time having sex. Ooooh yes. Well I love you all, goodnight to all, and to all a goodnight. Oh yea, this is inspirational, I want to do piercings now actually, tomorrow I'm planning on trying to do a nipple piercing on myself. Talk to me- Alicohol Poison (my aim sn).
