So I had been thinking about getting my labret pierced for a while now. People had been telling me that it was pretty painful, or that it messed up your teeth and gums. I asked all my friends that had had it done, and they all told me i should do it. The day before i wanted to get it done i was on this page looking up storys. I read through all the ones that said it had hurt, and i started to get butterflies in my stomach. i wasnt sure if should have it done, so i slept on it.

I had butterflies in my stomach bigtime when she came over. I washed my face, and washed out my mouth really really good. i coudlnt even eat i was so nervous (i am the biggest wuss ever)
I went with megan to canada to get it done, people had told me it was cleaner over there, and it was cheaper. It was a place called need a new hole. When we got there, there was tons of people waiting in line. Mostly dumb girls going to get their belly button pierced. They were talking about their boyfriends, and how they were excited about their girlfriends getting their belly button pierced. And how they wanted to go see korn, because it was thier favorite band, and how septum piercings were gross.
There was one girl that came in who had her hand pierced. I thought it was pretty odd.. And she was explaining to me that she hated popular piercings, and also showed me she had the back of her neck pierced.
After waiting for about a half hour the piercer called me in. He led me into a small room, where i sat down and we started to talk. We talked for a while about where i lived, what i wanted to do when i was older, and how he wanted to be a porn star, but he thought it was too much work. I was really nervous when i went in, but talking to him made me feel better. He asked me to pick out the jewelry, and I picked out the smallest stud i could find. I didn't want a huge one because of my job. He cleaned where he was going to stick the needle, and made a mark. After I made him change the mark several times He put the clamps on. When he put the clamps on he asked me if was ok, and told me to close my eyes. The clamps were pretty uncomfortable and When he pressed the needle in I felt my face tense up with pain. He asked me if i was alright again while he was putting the jewelry in.
When he was done he handed me a mirror. I thought it looked awesome. He handed me a bottle of cleaning solution, and told me to clean it 3 times a day, and use mouth wash. He also said i could smoke with it. He gave me a card, and told me i could call if i had any problems.
After we left canada i felt almost sick, like i was going to vomit. I didn't though. I went to taco bell, and drank pepsi, it felt weird drinking with it. And i thought i had made the biggest mistake by getting it done. It felt like a i had a huge metal thing in my mouth. I never thought i would get used to it, much less eat with it again.
For a while I couldnt talk too well. I would slur words. I'm not sure if that happens with all labret piercings or just mine, but it was pretty funny see a girl with a swollen lip slurring her words. I didnt eat for a couple days, but that's just cause i'm weird.
The third day i had it, it was already starting to heal, when i noticed the backing was sinking into my lip. you could see the backing, but you could see that part of the skin in my lip was covering it up. I freaked out over that, and thought the stud was too tight for my lip. I realized it wasnt, and that was pretty normal. I got used to it.
It's been about 3 weeks since I've had it done, and i think it's almost healed. It took a about a week and a half to get used to it. I chewed with my mouth open, and i bit it a lot. I was really worried because my front tooth is chipped, and it's crooked, so i thought it would get stuck in there. it happened once when it was swollen, but that's it.
Everyone is telling me it looks really good on me, so I'm happy for that.
i recommmend this piercing for anyone who wants to get it done. It hurts a little bit, but nothing big.
