I wanted to get my lip pierced for a few months already, and I had the money and the time, I was just lazy. I was 17 at the time and my I already had both my eyebrows and my larbet pierced, which my Mom wasn't to thrilled about another hole in my body, but she knew she had no say in it. So finally one day it was beautiful and sunny out, and I didn't feel like staying home. At around 12:00 I called my girlfriend up (after almost 2 years, I am sad to say we are no longer together I will miss her allot) and told her to meet me in the city so we can meet up get my lip pierced. She thought the lip ring would look nice as did i. We hung out around Manhattan in the village like we usually did everyday and we got something eat and for me to get enough nerve to get my lip pierced. Everyone who is pierced knows this feeling, its not a feeling of being scared, its a feeling of just being a little nervous. I already had both my eyebrows and my labret pierced, so in no shape or form was I scared of getting pierced but I was a little nervous, but the feeling right before getting pierced is such a turn on lol it sounds sick, but its true.
At A Glance Author Anthony Contact fiberobtix@aol.com Studio forgot Location st. marks place, new york city After we ate, we walked a few blocks down to St. Marks Place and on that big street theirs like 5 piercing shops so I settled on the guy that I usually buy jewelry from right across the street from Coney Island High (an old place that had shows, might I add they had allot of great shows their). The guy that pierced me, I don't even know his name, but he's a nice guy, he's funny to, he tells you stupid jokes and everything. When we went to the little shop he wasn't their yet so I had to wait a few minutes so to kill time I threw little pieces of paper at my girlfriend. She also started trying to scare me by telling how badly the needle was going to hurt...this coming from a girl who don't even wear earrings.
About 5 minutes later he comes in and IM all psyched up and I was even thinking about getting both sides of my lip pierced. But my wallet disagreed with me. So he asks me what I want pierced and I tell him my lip, and he starts telling stupid jokes again. I told to please not kill me and he laughed. Then he put his gloves on and got all the utensils ready he was using a 16 gauge needle and ring. I was watching to make sure he cleaned everything and did everything right. I haven't had an infected piercing and I didn't plan on this one being the first. He made me rinse with some listerine and he then cleaned the area. Then he put the forceps on and put the needle in. I must admit it did pinch a bit but nothing to even thing about. He put the ring in and their it was, my lip piercing was finally done its amazing how you spend $40.00 on a 2 second job. Im not one to complain so I wont. The piercer gave me the "how to care for your piercing" paper, then I thanked him and left.
When I left from the piercer my lip was a bit swollen, but not too bad. Later on that night when I went in the shower I cleaned it up a little bit because their was a little crust on it and it looked like it bled a little more while I was out. After I cleaned it, it looked fine, the slowness wasn't even too bad. When I woke up in the morning I cleaned it and moved the ring around a little to get the crust out. It was still a little swollen but nothing even noticeable. It was painless too, I remember when I had gotten my eyebrows pierced it hurt when id move them around to clean them. But with my lip their was no pain whatsoever. Everyday id just clean it with peroxide to make sure all the germs from my mouth and hands didn't get the piercing infected. Theirs nothing worse them just spending $40 on a piercing and having to then take it out a few days later because it got infected.
Now its about over a year since I had gotten it pierced and its still perfect, I've never had a problem with it, its one of my favorite pairings, im about to get the other side pierced very soon. I might even do it myself. Girls with lip piercing's look so yummy too. I think anyone who wants to get their lip pierced or anything else they want should, their pretty much painless and they look really beautiful. Piercing, tats and other body mods are beautiful and they make you who you are as a person, and you only live once so live for yourself. Also I am looking very forward to being part of BME.
