So I was in Ottawa for a week with a bunch of my friends and even before we left, I told them I wanted to go get a piercing, but I didn't know what I wanted to get. I was trying to choose between a tragus, a lip, tongue web, or a septum, the whole entire way up there, but I didn't really decide.

Studio Agitprop Location ottawa, ontario, canada We hung around Ottawa for about 5 days and then I remembered that I was supposed to get a piercing, so we went downtown and tried to look for some good clean places. I had my ears done to a 0g, and a retired tongue web, so I wasn't nervous about the process, I was just really anxious to get it done and over with.
We found this once place, and I had to decide what kind of piercing I wanted. After thinking for awhile and staring at this saves the day poster, I decided to get my tongue web done again. ( I don't know what it has to do w/saves the day, but it was a good poster) So the guy there told me that they had to call some girl in b/c she was really good at doing tongue webs and he didn't want to screw it up. So I thought, "excellent." and then he told me to come back in half an hour so we set up an appointment and bam. I was going to get pierced.
So me and my friends walked around some more, and I thought, "What if the girl doesn't come?" or "What if I can't get it done again?" So my friend told me to go somewhere else and just check it out. (There are tons of places in downtown Ottawa, it's crazy!) So I thought, "Yeah, good idea." And we went to this once place that looked really dirty, and some other place that looked a lot like New Tribe in Toronto, (where I got my tongue web pierced the first time) and I was like, "Whoa, it'll be like deja vu!" So we went to the second place, and it was called Agitprop. (Agitation by propaganda or something.)
So I went right up, talked to the guy, and we just talked about piercings for like, half an hour, and I told him that I wanted to get my tongue web done again, but I still wasn't sure if I wanted it more than my lip or septum. He told me it was my decision but he said a lip would look good on my as an outer facial piercing. But since we talked for so long, I guess he thought I was pretty rad (heh) so he told me he would give me the piercing for $40, or 2 piercings for $80. Which is pretty good, because my first tongue web was about $75 alone. So I agreed and I was going to get my tongue web and my lip done together. (hell for my mouth eh?)
So he brought me into the piercing room and I sat down in the chair and he said he was going to do the tongue web first, so he got me to gargle with listerine and got me to pick out some jewelry.
I picked out this cool barbell and then he inspected my mouth to make sure it was ok. The he was like, "What the fuck? You don't even HAVE a tongue web." And I looked in the mirror, and I really didn't have one anymore. So he was like, "do you still want two piercings?" I should have said yes, but I just went with the lip. Grr.
So we rinsed out my mouth AGAIN, with listerine, and I picked out some jewelry AGAIN, (a CBR with a shiny black bead) and he went on to inspect my lip. Thank god it was ok, b/c I would have been pissed if I couldn't get that either. So he studied my face and marked the spot where I was going to get it (middle lower lip) then handed me the mirror to see if I liked where it was. For sure, it was all good. So he took the CBR and put it on my lip to see what it would look like with the ring in, and I LOVED it.
So he clamped my lip and was like, "DON'T MOVE!" So I was sitting there with the clamp on my mouth while he got all the equipment ready. The he said "take 3 deep breaths, and when you exhale on the last one I'm going to pierce it." I did as I was told and thought, "EEE! I'm finally getting it done!" Then I felt this insanely rad pain in my mouth and my eyes rolled back and I started laughing. He was like, "DON'T MOVE!" So I tried not to smile as he put the CBR in and cleaned it. I looked in the mirror and was like "GAA! That looks so wicked!"
Then he told me about cleaning, to rinse 6 times a day, not to eat anything greasy or fried for a few days, and that I would get some scar tissue after about 1 week, but it should disappear after about a month.
So that's it. I paid my $40, and it was probably the best $40 I've spent. I love my lip piercing. I can wear a labret post in it too and it looks nice. It's a good piercing to get. Thanks.
