I'd been considering getting my eyebrow pierced for a long time. I decided it was the right thing since I'd wanted it for a while, thought it would look good, was still acceptable, and -everyone- else was getting their lip or bellybutton pierced. A while ago I searched some stuff about piercings and found BME, I love this site! I read a bunch of stories that gave me confidence and helped me decide that now is when I wanted to get it.

I had asked my parents and my dad was fine with it, but my mom wasn't sure, but when I said I'd pay for it she said fine. I found a place to go and after a few weeks finally got the oppertunity. My friend Siobhan wanted to come too so she, my mom, and I headed to Ink Castle that Wednesday (last wednesday at the time of writing this). It was the place where my friends mom, and Siobhan's friend got all their tattoos so it couldn't be too bad.

Siobhan was freaking out and I wasn't even scared, really. We go in the 'piercing' door and there was no one there. The walls were covered in different tattoos and stuff. We sat down and a moment later the guy came out.

He asked what I needed and I told him an eyebrow piercing, he asked if I wanted a ring or a barbell and I told him a ring because I'm not aloud to get a barbell he asked why and I told him to ask my mom who was looking for her ID. She said she didn't want to look at me with a big barbell in my face. He then brought out the container of the little silver barbells, showed her how small they are, and explained how barbells are way safer than rings, since they don't get caught on stuff as easily. So my mom said a barbell was fine, she was thinking about huge spiky things that she's seen on other people.

I read the little aftercare paper, filled out the other one and my mom and I signed it. He asked us to come back into the other room where the other guy was watching a show about beer or something on the history channel...yea. My mom and Siobhan came back too and I sat down in the black chair, it wasn't like a dentist chair like most people have said, it was just a chair with a little headrest. Anyway, he asked what side I wanted it on and I said the left. He cleaned the area and marked the spot, giving me the mirror to look at it. It was on the very end of my brow and looked fine to me. He asked my mom if she wanted to look and she replied, "It's her face." (even though I hadn't been aloud to get a barbell on -my face-).

He had on gloves and started taking everything out of their packages. When he turned around with he clamp, Siobhan came over to hold my hand, if anything it was for her support, haha. But the guy watching tv said she couldn't hold my hand and the piercer said that if I moved when he was piercing me...it wouldn't be good.

I closed my eyes because I didn't want to see a needle suddenly in front of my eye. The piercer (yea, I don't know his name) told me to breath in and he stuck the needle through, then to breath out. Siobhan had run out of the room at some point with the needle. When I opened my eyes, the needle was in front of my eye and Siobhan was going "there's a needle....in your eyebrow...." Maybe it wasn't the greatest idea to bring someone who's deathly afraid of needles, but she wanted to come.

I closed my eyes again when the guy turned back around to put the barbell in. Now, some people have said the clamp is the worst part, others say the switching to jewelery, but the whole thing felt the same throughout to me- an uncomfortably hard pinching type feeling.

The guy gave me the mirror to look at it and I thought it looked so cute. He went over aftercare with me and I paid him-$50.

The entire time we were there must have been 5 minutes. It only really hurt afterwards like when we were driving home, but I took some pain reliever and we got the stuff I needed. I clean it twice a day with antibacterial soap and put bacitraycin gel stuff on it. It's a few days later and it doesn't hurt anymore. The two days after, it only hurt when it got accidentally touched. And I only got a tiiiiiny bruise, making it a bit blue, like where the bar was.

It's a cute piercing and if you want it, get it, don't be afraid!
