Let me start off by saying that this was a very sad experience for me because I had wanted my eyebrow pierced for the past 5 years and when I finally got it, I had to take it out. Here's how everything started...

My boyfriend and I were bored a week ago, so we were talking about what to do to cure the boredom. He knew I really wanted my eyebrow pierced, so he suggested we go sometime. I was thrilled, because eyebrow would complete my piercing cravings, I already have 9 piercings, so this would be it for the time being. So, I told him I really wanted to go get pierced, so we thought of the day we could do it. We decided to do it on a Saturday, because it was the best day to go. I had to wait though, which sucked, but I knew it would be worth it in the end. Then as the week wore on I got nervous and anxious waiting for the Saturday to roll around. I had decided I also wanted my sister to come with when we went, for more moral support. Then it was Saturday finally.
I woke up on Saturday and was ready to go. I showered and got dressed. My boyfriend and sister got ready as well, we decided to go around 5 to hopefully avoid traffic and people, so I could get it done right away. We drove there and walked in. The place was crowded, I wasn't used to a lot of people being there. Then a guy came up to me and asked what I wanted, I told him I wanted my right eyebrow pierced. He asked if I wanted a ring or barbell, I opted for a barbell because rings make me nervous, I'm afraid they'll get caught on stuff. I then paid the $75 and he told me to wait until it was my turn to be pierced. I felt like I was waiting forever, I started to get more nervous, but I was still so excited, it didn't matter. My boyfriend and sister kept making me feel better and we were discussing placement and everything. Then it was finally my turn to be poked. My piercer came up and asked if I was ready, so the 3 of us went to the back area.
I was told to sit in the chair. I was nervous because there was a person in the chair next to me getting a tattoo and I felt weird because they could see what was going on with me. My piercer got out the tools and cleaned my eyebrow, the stuff was very cold. Then he took the needle and I knew I was about to be pierced, for the first time without being numbed, it was scary, but I was brave. I grabbed my sister's hand and had her by my side. Then he pushed the needle through my eyebrow, it didn't hurt at all, I was in shock, it just felt like a hard pinch. Then he grabbed the barbell to put in, but dropped it, so he had to go get another one. I sat there with the needle in my eyebrow, I felt weird, but then he returned. He shoved the jewelry through and screwed on the ball, that wa uncomfortable, but bearable. Then he placed a piece of gauze over my eyebrow and taped it on, and gave my the solution to clean it with. I was done, so we all left. I was so happy. It looked great, but was very swollen and sore. We got home and I waited to show my mom. She came home and was grossed out because it was so swollen. Later that night I decided to clean it once, just to make sure it was clean. I went to bed and I couldn't sleep on my right side due to the discomfort. When I woke up it was still swollen and red. I cleaned it and made sure it didn't stick. The swelling was so bad, my eyebrow was so puffy it was gross. It was very uncomfortable, but I didn't know what was going to happen a couple days later. I went to bed on Monday night and was having problems with it.
I woke up at 5 in the morning, today and my eyebrow was so red and swollen and the skin had swollen right up to the balls of the barbell, I was afraid it would grow over. The piercer had used a tiny 16 gauge mircro barbell, which was the worst idea ever!!!!! I had 2 choices to make, either keep it in and risk the skin growing over it, or take it out and then in a few months try again. I had to take it out. I actually cried because I was attached to it, even though I only had it a few days. I unscrewed the ball and removed the jewelry. The holes were all red and sore, it was bad. I now have 2 holes on my eyebrow and I am letting them close up. I plan on getting it redone at a different place with a ring instead, so hopefully that will go well.
My advice to people is to be careful!!! There are things that can go wrong. I unfortunately had to retire a piercing I loved and wanted forever, but I learned my lesson.
