June 16, 2004. The day after my 15th birthday. It took FOREVER to get here. But the wait was well worth it. My mom finally agreed to let me get my eyebrow pierced after years of begging her. I had wanted it since I was about 10 and saw my sister with hers. Hers got infected and she took it out, but that's a whole different story. It was done at Jade Dragon in Chicago.

The feeling of a healed piercing is like no other. If people tell you they are not addicting, they must not have any themselves. But on to the good part...
So I went to school, and I cut my last class so I could get something to eat before we went to get it done. I ate, then came home and got ready. My mom was playing games on the computer, and refused to get off.
About an hour later, she got off of the computer, and we left. We went to this one place, I forget the name, and they wouldn't do it because I'm not 18.
So another hour of waiting for the bus. At least it seemed like an hour. We finally get to Jade Dragon. My stomach was in knots, but my boyfriend, Paul, had gone along to hold my hand, and he was trying to calm me down. He even offered to let me listen to his Slipknot cd.
When we all walked inside after my mom finished her cigarette, the guy in there asked what he could do for us. So my mom said, "You have an eyebrow piercing, and now she needs one." He told us to wait a few minutes while he went to get the piercer.
About 3 minutes later, this guy came in and asked what I wanted. I told him I wanted to get my eyebrow pierced, so he told me the price, and asked me if I wanted a ring or a barbell. I said that I wanted a ring because I had heard that they heal faster. So he helped me pick out a plain silver ring from a big case.
He told me to follow him, so I did. He took me back into this big white room, had me sit in a chair that looked like one from a hair cuttery or something, and then he showed me all of his supplies. He asked me which side I wanted it on, and I told him my left. He put on his gloves, and started to clean my eyebrow. After he cleaned it, he put two dots on my eyebrow and asked it if was ok. I asked if we could move it in more and he said of course. So Smokey re-cleaned my eyebrow and replaced the dots. After I approved, he took out the clamps.
He looked me in the eye and said that this would hurt more than the actual piercing. I believed him, and told him to go for it. At this point, I closed my eyes. I felt him place the needle on top of my eyebrow, and he said, "I'm going to push it in on 3. ok?" So I of course said ok.
He didn't even count, he just said ready? 3! and then pushed it in. (my mom said it went through the top very easily, but it had a little trouble going through the bottom layers of skin.) I liked the way he did that, because it made it somewhat more relaxing because I wasn't worried about the countdown. I kept my eyes closed, and my mom said I should look because there was a needle with cork in my eyebrow.
I waited patiently for him to put the ring in, which seemed to be a little hard, but it was ok. I started to laugh because my left eye started to water, and he asked me if I was going to cry. I said no, and about 5 seconds later, he told me to look in the mirror.
I looked, and I automatically fell in love with it. He put a bandage over it and told me to keep it on for 20 minutes, and that I could change my ring in about 3 weeks.
It's now been about a week, and I'm even more in love with it now than I was then. I keep looking at it in the mirror, and it is beautiful. But, you have to keep it clean. Infections are never any fun. As long as you keep it clean, and don't touch it with dirty hands, everything will be fine. I changed it to a barbell the very next day, and still have had no problems with it.
It only felt like a tiny pinch, it hurt a little, I won't lie, but nothing that will make you cry or scream. So to anyone wanting this, go for it! It's amazingly fantastic!
