Well to start this off, this is my fifth body piercing besides the seven I have in my ears. I have been wanting to start modifying my body since I was around 11 years old. But, of course, my grandmother, whom had been like a mother to me, raising me my whole life, and being VERY old-fashioned, didn't like the idea and said no. Well, she actually said "you must be out of your damn mind" to be more specific. I tried, with no success, for years to get her to take me to go get pierced. So, when my 18th birthday came, it all began. I have gotten 5 piercings and 3 tattoos in a matter of 8 months. I don't regret a single one, and I am planning on many more.

I had originally gone to a shop in Savannah, California Tattoos (where I had gotten my tongue done), with my friend Tricia, two months prior to going to Ivory Towers. We both wanted our eyebrows pierced that night, but to my dismay, they told me they didn't do eyebrow piercings there due to their insurance not covering it or something to that effect. So, I ended up getting another piercing that night ... that's for another story though.
So, about two months later, after my labret had healed for the most part, I went to Ivory Towers, which is about 4.5 seconds away from my apartment. I had been there before, the place was very nicely set up, the typical displays of art up on the walls along with awards they had won, very clean, kind of a cozy environment, but the people aren't very people-friendly so-to-say, are very short and all business, not really much on chit chat. But, this being the only shop within a fifty mile radius that did eyebrows that was ... well honestly, that was clean and I knew had sterilized instruments, I decided to get my eyebrow pierced there. I had also decided to have Dustin help me remove my labret stud and replace it with a CBR, since I had failed miserably for two months trying to remove the ball (he had to use plier-type things AND forceps to remove the ball, it was such a hassle), and to change out my nose stud for a ring. He was happy with that since it meant more money for him haha.
I went through the basic filling out the forms, giving them my I.D., paying them, choosing the jewelry I wanted for my eyebrow, my CBR, my nose ring, and the such. Then onto the brightly lit, small piercing room. I sat on the chair in total silence as Dustin washed his hands, set up the tray, and put on his gloves. He started with changing my labret stud to a CBR, it took about 15 minutes to get the ball off and get the ring in. And the ointment he put on it before he put it in tasted absolutely HORRIBLE! Next was my nose, that was simple enough, took about 2 minutes. So, onto my eyebrow, he changed gloves, and got out the marker to mark my eyebrow. He marked it once and asked me if I liked it. I didn't like the placement, so I had him redo it, not to his liking though ... so it was actually an eyebrow piercing and not off to the right of my eyebrow. This time, I liked it, I sat down once again, and he clamped my eyebrow. I was nervous of course, a piece of metal is about to be shoved through my skin. Although, anxiety IS the worst part of most piercings. As least in my experiences this proves true. I closed my eyes, he asked if I was ready, I said yes, and in went the needle. Honestly, it was the most awesome feeling ever. I loved it, it didn't hurt at all. It was one smooth motion. Sort of like a hot knife through butter. I was almost ready to tell him to do a double, so I could have that feeling again, but I didn't have the money at the time, so I kept my mouth shut. I didn't need to put myself into debt with bills coming up.
Anyway, he went through the basic explaining of the aftercare instructions, gave me the paper with the instructions on it, made sure he showed me he threw away the needle he pierced me with in a biohazard disposal container (like the ones in doctor's offices) as to prove all needles are used once... safety regulations I suppose. I said thank you, grabbed my purse, and off I went to the store to buy sea salt...not very easy to find around where I live.
Okay, enough of my ranting. All in all, I would have to say this was my most pleasurable piercing experience thus far. I am planning on getting a second one done in the near future.
Anyone who is thinking of getting an eyebrow piercing, I say go for it! It is one of the least painful piercings I have ever gotten (though it does differ from person to person) and I couldn't be happier with it! Happy piercing!
