Ever since I was little; I enjoyed looking at tattoos and the art form of piercing. Just something about the colors and needles. I thought it was very attactive. I loved the creativity and expression that they showed. Even though they are in some of the same places, each one is very different.

Well it all started at a flea market, For some reason it was very slow that day, it is usualy fast paced, but today because it was slow i got some good deals. I was with my cousin and we were looking at the body jewelry. They had many different styles and colors. We spent almost two and a half hours just thinking what would look cool on us and stuff like that. I thought about getting my eyebrow pierced. It was a risky idea given my age. So I decided to get my brow pierced, this is very exciting for me because i have never really had a piercing before, not even my ears. So I buy the jewelry, two curved sixteen gauge barbells. one red and another blue. So then I go ask my dad if I can get it done. Of course, like his usual self, he said yes! (Thank god I'm an only child or this wouldn't be happening.)

So my family and I went to get it done at Kentucky Tattoos. We go in on a very slow day. So I sit down in a really comfy chair almost like a dentist chair. I was almost about to get my brow pierced when my silly Mom says something about my surgery. I was going to have surgery in about three days. All of a sudden he stops and I ask him why at this point worried. He says "If you get it pierced now they'll make you take it out for surgery and it will close up before the surgery is done". BIG DISSAPOINTMENT on my part. This would mean I would have to wait at least two more weeks to get my precious piercing done. I guess my Mom wasn't so silly after all. I would not have liked to take out my new piercing for surgery. I would have been very angry and upset.

Two weeks later after the horrible surgery and the unbelievable anticipation, we go back to the tattoo and piercing shop ready to get my beautiful brow pierced. This time on a very very busy day. There were people everywhere this time. People getting tattoos and piercings. While I was waiting for my turn, it was awful. I had plenty of time to see and hear the artists giving the piercings. And yes you can hear the piercings. Sharp metal going through skin and muscle definitly has a distinctive sound. To take my mind off of everything I was seeing and hearing, once again we look at all the big colorfull tattoos and watch people get pierced in very werid places like the neck and back. After about an hour waiting, the clerk comes up takes my jewelry, to be put in a sterilizing package and makes us sign all of the forms and papers, look at our ID's talk to us about the piercing i wanted done and how tho take care of it and so on and so on. After that I got seated in like this den tist chair and I watch him get ready and open all of the sterile packages and put on his gloves. He says "You ready for the worst part?" I nod my head thinking he is about to pierce my brow, instead he puts these humongous clamps sort of like hemos on my brow and lets it hang for a while. To my surprise he puts the needle on my skin instead of lifting it up in the air to pierce it. Then he shoves it through my brow and voila, no pain at all, just the feeling of some thing in your skin and a little pinch. He then takes my curved red barbell and stuck it in the hollow needle, then slid the needle out. He screwed on the bottom of my barbell and it was over. So I shake his hand and he only charges me $5.00, i mean what a deal. I say good bye and leave the joint.

As soon as I got home I cleaned it out with beta dine. It didn't hurt or sting at all or as much as I thought it would. Since then, I've cleaned it out like only 3 times. Brows don't usually get infected so that's a good reason to get it done along with all the other many reasons to get this particular piercing. And any one wanting to get it done, go for it! It's really cool and causes great attention to you. So man, just say YES to piercings. PEACE
