My eyebrow piercing was a very spontaneous one. My friend was nervous about getting her own eyebrow done and so to settle her nerves, I agreed to go with her and get mine done before her so she could see how it was done and it is hurt and so on. I had about a week to complete a usual two weeks of research. What can I say; I like to know what I'm doing before I do it.

She's only 14 so I know that the more reputable place in town wouldn't because you have to be at least 16 with parental consent there. She wound up picking a place I hadn't ever heard of prior to this called Koolsville. I picked up her and her mother at their place and drove them there. It was a bit difficult to find because it wasn't too well-known and was kind of small. Thankfully I had the opportunity to explain the piercing to my friends' mom before we got there because as it turned out, the place didn't do a very good job of it. I'd already studied it quite a bit because of my ambition to become a professional body piercer.
I wasn't a bit nervous on the drive over but I could tell my friend was. We finally found the place. I think we drove around the block at least twice trying to find it. It was a little hole in the wall type place but it looked clean so I didn't have a severe problem with it.
We were greeted by a somewhat lackadaisical woman who basically just looked at our ID's and had us fill out this little sheet. She didn't seem to be the most helpful person in the world. She handed us an aftercare sheet but never explained it until my friends' mom asked her something about it. Then she had us pick out our jewelry. I was originally wanting something with a bigger gauge than I wound up with but they only had one gauge of eyebrow bars so I picked out a 16 gauge curved barbell with black balls. I handed her the $20 for the piercing and she went in the back to set up.
After about 2 minutes, the woman took both of us in the back of the shop and she had me sit down. The only real problem I had with the setup is that she didn't clean the area in front of us but all the equipment was packaged and sterilized so I cannot complain. She asked me if I was allergic to iodine before cleaning my eyebrow off. Then she told me to close my eye and she clamped it with some forceps. The forceps weren't too uncomfortable which was a surprise. She picked up the needle and I started doing the breathing exercise that I always do when getting pierced. Somehow it can make even the most painful piercing seem like nothing at all. Without warning or pain, I had a needle through my eyebrow. Then the barbell was inserted and I was done. It really didn't hurt or sting or anything. There was a tiny bit of pressure but that's about it and I felt the threaded part of the barbell go through but that's pretty traditional.
Then it was my friends' turn. The woman did the same procedure and I taught my friend the breathing that I always do. She said that it didn't hurt either.
Afterwards, we walked back out to my car and I explained a good cleaning plan for her... sea salt and antibacterial Provon soap. It was better than the instructions the place gave us. Actually it was sort of similar to the places' instructions but they just said "salt" but I explained that sea salt should be used in place of table salt. It's a tried and true cleaning plan for me. That's one reason why I wasn't concerned with going to a hole-in-the-wall place. I had healed 11 piercings up until that time and the 12th wasn't going to be any more complicated.
It's been about 3 weeks now since I'd gotten it done. It's healing just fine, no infections, almost no lymph, and no pain. I'm quite happy with the way that it's looking and I'm keeping up a rigorous cleaning schedule. I know eyebrow piercings have a nasty habit of rejecting if they aren't cared for properly so I'm trying to do everything that I can to prevent that from happening.
I would definitely recommend this piercing to anyone and everyone who is looking for that other piercing. It may not be incredibly unique, but it's a rather simple to care for, cute piercing. I'm not entirely sure I'd recommend the place to anyone in Oklahoma City because I much prefer the way that 23rd Street Body Piercing conducts their modifications.
