I got my first body piercing when I was 17, under the full OK of my parents (well, my mom anyway..). Then, I waited another year and a half before I got my next one (my tongue). My parents flipped about that one and told me NEVER to get anything else pierced. Of course I didn't listen to them. (What are us teenagers for anyway if we don't defy everything our parents tell us?).
At A Glance Author BodModAngel Contact BodModAngel@bme.anon When A month ago Studio Infinity Ink Tattoz Location NC I decided to get my eyebrow pierced after many fights with my mom and dad about how I couldn't get anything pierced that people could see. I really wanted my labret pierced, but mom threatened to take my car away, so I wasn't going to venture that far. I had never really wanted my eyebrow pierced, but it was the only piercing I thought I could get away with, and I HAD to have something pierced (it's addictive; you know). I only decided to get my eyebrow pierced just to show my parents that they couldn't get away with not letting me be me. They were going to have to accept my new way of life; whether they liked it or not.
I decided to go to the same place I got my tongue pierced as I trusted the guy and alot of my friends go there. I called up a friend of mine; Martha to go with me for moral support (and so I wouldn't chicken out).
I got off of work early and went and got my friend. We drove to the piercing place. I showed them my ID (they remembered me) and they told me I didn't need to fill another form out because the one from my tongue piercing was still on file.
The piercer went over the aftercare, the risks, and all that fun stuff. I think that time when he is going over that stuff is the best time because all the nervousness goes away and I just get so excited about what is going to happen. He gave a pamphlet on how to care for it and then went to the back to set up.
About fifteen minutes later he came back out front and asked me what side I wanted done. Now, this was a hard decision. When I was about 12, my horse reared up and her hoof slid through the right side of my forehead. I had 13 stitches and most of the elasticity of my skin in that area is gone now. For that reason, I did not think the piercer could pierce that side so I was getting used to the idea of it on my left side. When I told him this and asked his opinion he said that the skin on the right side would probably be tuffer and easier to heal, so it was my decision completely. Since I had my cartilage done on my left side, I decided to go ahead and get my right eyebrow pierced to keep things evened out.
He led me back to the same chair I had my tongue pierced in. We chatted about the size of the ring he was going to pierce me with and other piercing related things while he did the last of getting ready.
He then cleaned the area he was going to pierce, took a small black pen and marked the 2 holes. He let me check it in the mirror and I gave my go on it all. He brought out the clamps (my worst nightmare from my tongue piercing). He assured me it wouldn't be nearly as uncomfortable as my tongue. He clamped it and checked to make sure the holes were lined up. Then, he had me hold the clamps while he got the needle out. He took the clamps back from me and asked if I was ready. "Go ahead" I replied. He then told me to take a deep breath, then let it out. As soon as I let it out, I felt the needle go through.
It wasn't really pain; as much as an amazing adreniline rush I can't explain. He threaded the CBR through and then snapped in the ball. I was done. I jumped down from the chair; checked out my new piercing and payed him the thirty dollars. I was so thrilled! There was a little blood, but not much.
My mom saw it first thing the next morning, didn't say much, just got pissed. She told me how I didn't respect her (blah, blah, blah). My dad saw it that night (didn't even see it until I pointed it out). He actually likes it, but won't admit it when mom is in the room. He says he has to stay on her side on this one.
It was quite sore for the first day, but that went right away. I washed it twice a day with anti-bacterial soap and warm water. I've had it for about 3 weeks now and love it! I have since changed it to a barbell which is much easier to deal with. I didn't really care for the piercing when I first got it (it was just a rebelious thing), but now I don't see how I ever lived with out it! :-)
