I'm from England, but it was when we were in Florida on a family holiday that I decided to get my eyebrow pierced. I thought that it would be more interesting to say that it was done in sunny Florida rather than the boring miserable little English town that I live in.

Also I knew that I would be going to Australia in the middle of September and i thought that by getting it done in July in Florida that if it gets infected or anything then it should be alright by the time I go to Australia. I thought that would be better than going to Australia with my head all swelled up.
Anyway, we were staying in a hotel that was quite close to a couple of piercing places. So when I decided to get it done, it was merely a walk away. That walk seemed to go on for hours, legs slowly turning to jelly and all: It was my first piercing and I'm not the biggest fan of being stabbed in the face with a big metal spike.
The reason I wanted it was that I had always liked the look and wanted one for ages, but just thought that I never would, so I decided to prove myself wrong.
So anyway, my sisters and I went to one place that I liked the look of, it was professional looking with white tiled floors and white walls with pictures of tattoos all over the place. I paid the money, signed the page that said that I promise not to sue if I go blind or whatever, and then this guy just came out of nowhere and told me to go with him.
I was impressed; he just appeared I do not remember anybody shouting him or anything - strange.
Anyway, he took me to this little room and sat me down, and told me to shut my eyes so he could put the alcohol stuff on or whatever it was.
I remember the guy saying that he would put it through at a slight angle and I thought that was great. I chose to have the bar put in. Not sure, of the reason, really, it was either that or the ring. My sister told me to have the bar so I thought I might as well.
Anyway, when he was putting it in I had my eyes shut but I could tell what was going on. It did not hurt anything like I thought it would. I had been preparing myself for some kind of torture session - but it was great - he said it would hurt like pulling out an eyebrow hair - and he wasn't kidding, it was really painless.
So anyway when it was over I went out to see my sisters, who were clearly more nervous than me, which I thought was quite humorous. and then we went back to the hotel. I was feeling quite light headed, and had a little bit of a head ache, but it all wore off quite quickly.
Anyway, it has been in there a little over 5 weeks. It hurt a little that evening but not too bad. I have caught it when taking off a T-shirt - you have to make sure you don't do that - OUCH!!
I am quite paranoid about the bar falling out and not noticing. I keep checking to make sure it is still there every time I pass something reflective. So far though it has not moved, except when I'm cleaning it.
Apart from that, it has been great; it did not swell up or do anything bad yet. My sister told me to use Saline on it, which I have been doing 3 times a day and that has been successful, so far. One word of advice when cleaning: cleaning a piercing when slightly drunk is a very bad idea!! Clean it before you get drunk ; ) But seriously cleaning it is important and you should do it as often as you are told to, I was told 3 times a day so that's what I do
I'm glad that I did not get the ring and instead went with the Bar. I have caught the bar several times and it hurts. If I had a ring, I can't imagine how much it would hurt. I will probably change it to a ring when it is totally healed, but I am not looking forward to changing it over.
Anyway, I like it and am very glad I got it done in Florida rather than this little English town. I am thinking about getting an industrial in my ear when I get to Australia and a couple of tattoos and maybe my nipples pierced...
Who ever said piercings can be addictive??
