Okay, this all happened a while ago, but i figured that it may prove useful to some people who are thinking about getting their eyebrow pierced. It just a little tale of the various problems I had with my eyebrow piercing a while back. However I must point out, as bad as this all may seem, it was a great experience.

I had been considering getting my eyebrow pierced for quite a while, but never really though about going forward with it. Eventually the idea was forgotten as I became interested in other things. But then I saw someone with it done whilst skating and it all came flooding back to me. I must get this done.

I wanted to do some research first since I had heard things like how you can paralise half of your face. So after looking around the internet, I found BME on a search engine. I soon became obsessed with reading the various stories and looking at all the pictures it had to offer. I also checked the QOD to see what I could find. I discovered that you could only damage your face if the piercing was done far, far to deep. So I was set, I must get it done.

A long while after this I was at a party completely pissed and was chatting to this girl. We were talking about piercings and the like and I told her I wanted my eyebrow done and she said that we should go the next day and do it (Note: This is not the best way to do things, I'm glad I had done my research, otherwise I would've been stupid). So the next day we went up to Camden Town in London to look for a place. We found a shop called Chico Piercings above a shoe shop (offputting I know), and it was really clean. The people in there were really nice, and the lady that pierced me was really reasuring (I spoke to her the other day in fact). I was with my friend Emma and the girl from the night before, Charlotte. I think they were more scared than I was. It really wasn't bad at all. Pinch your eyebrow fairly hard, doesn't hurt much does it? Well it's not even that bad, I think anyway.

So the problem that now presented itself was school. I wore a plaster over it and that worked for a while. Until I got spotted by the headteacher who asked what had happened. Not being the one to hide stuff I showed him. He told me that I couldn't wear it for school and so we got into a mass debate over individuality and equality. Eventually we agreed that I would wear a retainer and all would be okay. Wahoo!

Problem two. My eyebrow hadn't fully healed, and so playing around with the jewelery caused some problems and my eyebrow became infected. Not nice. But I managed to heal it and things seemed okay. Until I went to a gig. Whilst in the mosh pit, the ring must have fallen out. Because it wasn't there when we left the venue. This really pissed me off, and I wasn't sure what to do. Whilst we were at London Bridge station however, my friend Emma offered to redo it for me. For some reason I accepted, thinking that it hadn't been out for long, the hole should still be there (Don't do this, it hurts and was probably the reason for a lot of the problems I have had). Well the hole was there, just it was a lot smaller. So it fucking hurt like shit to put it mildly. Either way we got it done and i was once again happy. But it was now infected again. I cleaned it up, and a couple of days later bought a barbell and put that in. But I still had to use the retainer for school. With my eyebro w not healed properly anymore, and having to changed the jewelry for school and stuff, it became very sore.

Ultimately it grew out. I'm not sure weather it was because I had a straight barbell, or weather it was because it went through so much shit, or even because I just didn't take well to that particular piercing, but it grew out (I've been into the shop since and because I had it done there and it grew out, they will do it for half price). Ah well is all I can say. It was a good experience and I'm glad I did it. Through my many mistakes I learnt a lot. All I can say is that if you want it done, do it. Even if it grows out, you will have had a good experience. Just make sure you look after it and be careful with it. I did wash it and do all the aftercare, but outside of that I was a bit careless with it. Look after your mods, after all, they are or will be a part of your body, and for as long as you can hope.
