I got my tongue done four months ago. I had always wanted it done, I have always wanted plenty of piercings at one time or another but have waited until I was out of my parents house out of respect for them. My husband wasn't sure about the eyebrow though. He was a bit skeptical about the fact that it may just be a passing thing. But a week ago he looked at me and said, "You know if you still want your eyebrow its been like six months so I think thats a good enough time." I was so excited and I began looking at pictures. I decided I didn't want a ring right away, I'm a klutz and could just imagine all the things I could catch it on and severly injure myself. So I thought that a barbell would be better. As I have never had this piercing I wasn't sure if they did it with a curved or straight. So off to Inksmith to talk to Rod I went. I asked him all about the pressure and he said a curved barbell is the best and that it is tough to clean so I'll have to be dilligent...which is no problem I become almost obsessive compulsive when it comes to healing piercings and tats, Its more than just money to me when I get something I plan on keeping it and I'm not just going to give it the slightest chance of going south on me.

So anyway I had pepped myself up for Friday. So I went and I read some stuff here on BME which was what I did with my tongue piercing and what made me want to become an IAM member. I asked some QOD questions about the FAQ saying that all eyebrows eventually reject and Gary was right on with the answers and the promptness. So after reading some experiences I was talking it over with my husband and he said he'd always considered an eyebrow piercing for himself but HATED piercing's healing times because of all the bad stuff that happend with his cartlidge piercing. (It was done with a gun when he was younger) So I told him more about my tongue and how to this DAY my gun pierced lobes are still only half healed and as soon as a stick a piece of jewelry in there they swell and scab and pus like they were brand new, so he agreed, especially after we went back to Inksmith and he really liked the idea of the ivory pieces when his healed.

So friday is here. We get up go have some good breakfast at famous amos went picked up some antibacterial soap and sea salt and then headed out to inksmith yet again. We came in talked to Rod again, he's a really nice guy I recommend him highly, he's the Senior piercer and manager. He was a bit upset we just wanted regular brow piercings as his specialty are the horizontals. But he had us fill out all the requisit paperwook took copies of our driver's liscences. William disappeared to the bathroom, but he wanted to go first, so when he got back Rod had him hop up on the table and got his first set of gloves on he wiped down William's brow with some betadine and drew some dots on with a sharpie, I watched him lube up the needle he stuck it to the back of his glove with the lube he was using and went over to William told him to relax and then stuck the needle in no clamps with Really good accuracy it went RIGHT thru the dots he had drawn. he turned around switched gloves and t hen picked up William's jewelry and I watched as he butted the curved barbell up against the needle and out went the needle in went the barbell. William's was done! Rod had him arch his brow and he cleaned with what looked like a little towelett and then it was my turn.

The procedure was exactly the same, but Rod had decided he wanted to put a smaller piece in mine with some really tiny beads on it. He showed it to me and wow was it really really tiny compared to William's 14 gauge. So he does all the same prep and then comes over with the needle, I choose to close my eyes mainly so I didn't have to STARE at him while he was doing it, also it helped me to relax my brows as I'm one of those people with little to no control over what they do. So I feel the needle go in , it stings/ burns a bit but then it slowly goes away, he slips the barbell in there and it feels like a small tug he told me to bear with him for just a second since the beads were super small. But then in no time I was done and done. I checked it out, I totally love it and the pain I'm feeling now is a lot less than the pain of my tongue except for the fact that I can feel it's swollen there isn't any of the throbbing or burning type pain that I had with my tongue, if I arch my brows too high I get a bit of a sting but its all good.

Rod made me feel completely at home I didn't even have butterflies in my stomach this time when I hopped up on the table. I would like to get a double brow but my plan was to get something smaller next to the one I got today but I'm not sure I could get something smaller than what Rod but in my eyebrow, maybe I'll just get two of the same size we'll see.
