First piercing experiences are always the most special and scary. It's when you feel your first stomach jitters and not quite know what to expect, it was almost like a virginal state of bliss and at the time of getting it done seemed like the most significant step in my short life so far.

My (45 year old Male) boss was fine with it when I asked if their was a policy on piercing, he replied with " Nah, its trendy these days and its your body" which quite surprised me as my younger more open minded assistant manager was the one who told me they look ugly.
I walked to the piercing shop with my best friend Dean, who had his eyebrow pierced too (though his was a homemade job, done with a couple of pegs and a chunky needle ). I was slightly nervous, but also exited because I had wanted it done for over 4 months and finally it was becoming a reality. The walk to the shop took around 20 minutes and the whole way their I did not shut up, I think my adrenilin levels were already high, I was very very pumped.
We arrived at the shop and I was greeted at the front desk by a big biker guy called Mark wearing a leather vest, black jeans and studded boots. His arms were covered in tattoos and his face with piercings. I expected him to be rude, but he turned out to be a very friendly man, very much like a big bear. He got my details (name, ECT), it was quite surprising I was not asked my age, as I believe the age limit is either 16 or 18, anyhow I looked slightly older then 15 at the time I got it done. I was made to sign a declaration stating if anything went wrong I agreed to have it done ECT, they have permission the ring an ambulance la di dada). I signed and was forced to sit down for 15 minutes whilst they finished the tat some guy was having done in the back room.
They called me over and showed me a case of jewellery, I selected a plain banana bar bell, I cant remember what gage they told me it was I think perhaps 10, it was fairly small. I was finally asked to go into the back room, Dean was not allowed to come with me due to hygiene reasons, which was fair enough. I sat up as Mark cleaned the area and asked where I wanted the bar positioned on my right eyebrow, he marked the area with texta and told me to lie down. I heard him rustling packets around and things clinging together. He took me through the procedure as it came. The clamp went on and I closed my eyes, he then put the needle through, and before I had time to recognise the pain it was over. When he said " all done" I felt a bit shocked, I expected far more pain then their was, it was slightly uncomfortable when he put the jewellery through, but that was relatively painless. I stood up and felt slightly uneasy because of the speed I jumped up. I looked into the mirror and just started smiling.
I continued to grin as I walked out into the front of the store, as was told the procedure for looking after it, using salt water first and after a couple of days using the saline solution Mark gave me. I was instructed to start twisting it as soon as possible to prevent it getting stuck.
My mother hated it when I first walked through the door, but now has eventually come to grips with it, preferring it far more then the rest of my piercings. I am a sales assistant and never has a customer been rude or made any negative comments about it.
A lot of people in my area have now got it done, and it seems not to be as big of a deal these days, nearly every second young person has something pierced. Things have changed quite dramatically in the last 2 years, because my town in fairly isolated people 'standing out' seems to be a crime, even at the age of 15 I was not going to put up with that bullShite,i'm still very happy with it and though it was only a small and fairly lame statement it still seemed like I proving my individuality at that point.
