It was not long ago, just about five weeks I think. One night of my spring break my parents took me to South Street in Philadelphia. I had originally wanted to get my right lobe done since I had already had my left one at an 8 gauge. However, I wanted my eyebrow pierced way more than I wanted my right lobe done. So, as we were walking on our way from the restaurant to South Street I struck a compromise with my folks. The compromise was that if I could get my eyebrow pierced, I would take out the eight gauge and have no more piercing then this. Why, you ask. It's simple, for three long years I have wanted this and now was the perfect time.

I told them I wanted to go to Inferno because I had heard they were a very good and clean place. Well, we get there and one of the artists (at least I think he was an artist, but he did work there) was outside. My mom asked him how everything was done and she agreed. As I entered the studio I realized it smelled very nice, like insense, and they had some death metal band playing on the stereo (I'm not much of a death metal fan but it's better then some pop radio bullshit). Next, that same guy my mom was talking to turned to me and asked"Are you going to get anything done?". We all laughed because he assumed my mom was going to get her eyebrow pierced, since she was asking all of the questions about it. The guy then asked if I had my birth certificate and a photo I.D. but I didn't exactly have all the forms of I.D. with me that they needed. We came the next day which was Saturday, with all the I.D. I was required to give (birth certificate and photo I.D.). As I was wating I was looking around at some of the jewelry they had there for all kinds of piecring. I was really attracted to the plugs and spacers that were wooden and hand crafted. About five or six minutes passed when I heard my name called by the artist who was going to do my eyebrow.
I got back there with my mom (my Dad and Sister had gone down the street to the Gap) and he told me to sit on this operating table thing. I sat up and he explained to me everything that was going to happen. He sterilized the table with the supplies on it, pulled out a fresh sixteen gauge needle, got gloves and went to work. He told me to take deep breathes and to try and relax as much as possbile. He also told me, sit up very straight. Well, I was trying to relax but just couldn't really. So as a solution I held my Mom's hand. I really don't care if you think I'm a pussy for doing so but it worked. As he pierced my eyebrow my Mom looked away and I had both my eyes closed. Within twenty or thirty seconds he had pierced my eyebrow, closed the jewelery and said "O.K., all done." After it was pierced he gave me a pamphlet explaining how to clean it. He also showed me what not to clean it with and told me about a salt water solution to use a few times a week. I hopped down, and me and my mom walked out and went down to the Gap to see my Dad and Sister. Both my parents said it didn't look as bad as they would think it would and my Sister just straight said she didn't like it. Oh well, can't please everyone.
Afterwards, every thing was great. My eye was a little sore but it didn't bother me at all. I had friends over that night and they seemed to like it. Also, later that night we all went driving around and I was getting out of the car to go into Wendys and smack. I hit my eyebrow on the car door, and it hurt like a bitch. Other then my own stupidity I only had one problem. After Spring Break ended and I started back at school, when I would wake up in the mourning, my eye would be swollen like I had gotten punched or something. However, the swelling usually went down within an hour and it never hurt. I talked to some people who have theirs done and they say thats normal for the first few days. It's been just about five or six weeks from when I got it pierced and its great, no problems and I plan to put new jewelery in soon.
