After months of begging and multiply fights, my parents finally let me get my double nostrils pierced. So I started planning, and within one hour I had my appointment and I had my way there.

Being from a place were piercers make extra money by piercing young girls nipples in their basement I knew I couldn't get it done here, but I had a place in mind. After countless good reviews and getting my tongue web pierced there just a few months ago, I was set on the fall, I was set on Russ Foxx, so you cant even imagine how happy I was when I was able to get a appointment there only 2 days later. The night before I was laying in bed freaked, what if it didn't suit me? what if they were uneven? and oh my god how much was this going to hurt? but I got through it and somehow fell asleep.

That Thursday was finally the day, I got up early, got ready and headed off to school anxious for my piercing. I got off school early and headed off, my sister gave me a ride to the nearest bus station. The trip there was long, an hour and 25 on a bus, plus 45 on a sky train. I felt like I was going to die I was so dehydrated, but I could not get off because I would miss my appointment. So I toughed it out and as soon as I got to Granville station, and up the tall steep escalator I headed to the nearest place to get some water. with 20 minutes to spare, and the piercer only across the street and sat and relaxed, drinking my water until I felt better again, after about ten minutes i felt fine again and started off.

Walking into the building my stomach dropped, and my fear of needles came back. I was greeted at the counter by the man that would soon become my piercer, went over what type of jewellery would be best, jewellery quality, and price etc. I decided on just two plain nostril screws. Then he went over the legal forms and had me sign then, then we started up stairs.

Sitting down on the table I held tight onto my water bottle, But the fact that I had been in the very same room a few months ago, and I knew the area helped calm me down. Russ explained everything well he was setting up, how and how long for he was washing his hands, when he changed his gloves, what all the materials were for and how he keep them sanity, names of the marking liquid and why he preferred it and most importantly the piercing process.

Then came the marking, first the left nostril, then matching the right to it. First try it was almost exactly on, he looks at the dots and my face from different angles, got me to look in the mirror, fixed the one that was higher before we finally decided it was perfect. I laid down on the bed and prepared. He told me that he would pierce on a out breath so whenever I was reading to take a deep breath, told me I would have to close my eyes in case he dropped something and lined up the needle and receiving tube. Within seconds my eyes were closed and my nails were digging into the palms of my hands. I don't know how to explain the feeling, it was sharp and sudden, but only lasted for a second then all the pain was gone. The jewellery being put through hurt slightly but not as bad as the piercing, more of a discomfort, but my eyes watered EVERYWHERE. After the jewellery was through I stood up and looked in the mirror, my nose was bright red but I loved it, so after a second ch eck to make sure the dot was still lined up, and a drink of water I laid back down for the second.

The second one was almost identical to the first, I laid down, this time more on my side to allow Russ to reach the other nostril, took a few breathes, closed my eyes and through it went. The pain was the same, sharp but over quickly and I kept my eyes closed tightly even after the piercing was done. He waited about ten seconds as my eyes watered everywhere before asking me if I wanted to wait or have the jewellery put in. I told him just to put it in and dealt with the discomfort. After laying there for about 30 seconds after the jewellery I opened my eyes and looked in the mirror, my piercings were dead on. I sat back down and he cleaned the little bit of blood off the outside of my nose and the inside with clean q-tips, cleaning the inside of each for what must have been 30 seconds. After the cleaning he explained to me how and when I should be cleaning it and headed down stairs to pay.

Having 8 piercings this was probably my most amazing experience I have had. Russ made me sure I knew what was happening and when, and kept my mind off the fact that a needle was about to be shoved through my body, unlike every other piercer I have had who didn't make conversation and just wanted to get it down as fast as they could.

My healing was fairly simple, one side swelled more than the other so they looked uneven for a few days but other than that a bit of soreness at the beginning they have had no problems. For the first two weeks I cleaned inside and out twice a day with saline solution [I made my own, ¼ teaspoon non-oxidized sea salt to 1 cup water] but dropped it down to only once a day after those two weeks. I've had my piercers for just over a month and they are beautiful, I am incredibly happy with them.
