It all started about three years ago, I really wanted to get my tongue pierced but my mother never wanted me to. I was one of the first of my friends that ever wanted it. I had seen it on people and thought that it was a really cool looking piercing. Then some of my friends had gotten it done before me and that made me a little upset because they all thought I was talking crap. I eventually talked her into it, she said as long as I read up on it and understood all the risks involved in the procedure I could do it, that creeped me out so I chickened out for awhile. Then it was around Christmas, and my mother told me she wanted to get her tongue pierced with me, I was all psyched about it. She was taking to long to do it, and kept putting it off so I said what the hell I am going to do it without her.

I saved my money for about five days and came up with $50 to spend on it. I even told my mom I was going to the school dance to get $20. My friend had to go to the area so I asked him if he could give me a ride and come with me, he was so excited for me and said sure thing.
When I got there I began to get a little nervous as I had for my other piercings, but Gord gave me all the details and gave me an approval sheet to sign. He gave me all the details and told me that it was the quickest and easiest and lest painful piercing there was. So he got everything ready and I sat in the chair, he marked my tongue and I liked where it was so he go out the clamps, and the needle and jewelry and d he got me to stick out my tongue. It was all over in about 3 seconds, I didn't even feel it, and he said he only had to put the ball on and then he was done, I was surprised I didn't even know that he put the needle through.
I thanked him and he went over all the after care with me and gave me instructions to take home, I was able to change my barbell after three weeks. He was the nicest piercer I ever met, he gave me the worst case scenario and the best case that could happen, he said if I had any problems to just come in and he would take care of it.
The swelling wasn't bad at all, I was able to talk fine and eat afterwards. My mother didn't find out about it until the third day, although I told her my friend paid for it and that we had gotten a discount because I didn't want her to know that I saved my lunch money and supper money to pay for it, and after she got up the courage and got two tongue rings now. I had gone with her to get them done and she was surprised that it did not hurt, she also convinced her friend to get one done. Gord had pierced their tongues too, and when my mother had gotten her second one done, he told her that she was his hero and he wanted her to go back when it was healed and he would take a picture of it. He said if she got a third one done he would give her a discount and would love to do it because he hardly ever gets to do two, let alone three.
I am really happy with my piercing and enjoy it. Although I had made sure that I stayed away from dairy products, citrus drinks and spicy foods for a week.
If you are considering this piercing go for it, I am sure that would enjoy it just as much if not more. Just make sure you do your homework and research on it before hand because every experience is different. And also make sure that you have a professional piercer to do it, and a cleanly environment.
Now I have my new collection of piercings, which include my eyebrow, navel, 6 in my ears and once upon a time ago I had my nose pierced and I hope to get more. I would like to eventually get my labret done and my nipples.
I would like to become and professional piercer one day and was wondering if anyone knew what courses I would have to take to become one, or what I must do, it is a profession I am seriously interested in and would enjoy. Could anyone please send me some information on this, it would be greatly appreciated thanks.
